no way in the world either of them gives up the sport
If Franks is back next year, that’s a bad sign for both him and the program.
I want the QB that can actually see the open receiviers on the field during games. And he has to be able to get the ball to them accurately with some zip on the ball.
Some people have mentioned Anthony Richardson. I didn’t include him in my original post because Mullen doesn’t like to play freshman QBs and with 2 players going into their 5th year and one into his 3rd year, I don’t see any chance that Anthony Richardson plays in his freshman year. If all 3 QBs stay around next year I would even bet that AR doesn’t take a single snap in 2020.
I just hope Trask remains healthy and can prove himself through a long season against some really good defenses.
who would have guessed that he would get injured in practice, a few days after winning the starting job last year?
Hmmmmm..who could that be?
If Trask stays healthy this season and thru spring, I expect FF to transfer. If Trask gets hurt (which wouldn't surprise me at all) and it looks like FF could regain the starting job, we might have both next year. I think EJ will stick around unless he thinks AR is going to beat him out.
If Franks recovers and comes back next season, he'll be a redshirt junior, right? So he could play two more seasons
He is a RS Jr now.
Assume he will apply for a medical RS and get a sixth yr.
How about Trask and Franks
Or Trask and Jones
Not sure you were saying back up for Trask but just wanted to check.
Agree 100. Can’t believe there are still people on this board that don’t think Kyle has starter ability… He will definitely have his ups and downs even next week, but this kid is different than FF. Not trying to disparage FF but Kyle will make the offense go and the receivers already know this
Sorry, I didn’t mean to signify anything in the order. Just that those pairs would be the ones not redshirting. (I’m assuming that AR will be redshirting.)
If he can get a medical res-shirt, I would think so... for a potential sixth year of eligibility.
Don't think Frank's plays for Gators again.Think Trasks plays well enough to have job next season. He needs it before going pro. Not sure about Jones but I think Richardson if EE can win backup job. I like Jones as a runner but to me he would need 12-15 carriers to be good. Don't think he can take the hits.
Not sure he will ever be a top pocket passer with only 3 or 4 runs a game.
Now can be way off just my thoughts
With the current redshirt rule the only way AR doesnt get snaps is if he is injured. If healthy he will at least play as much as Emory did last year
We aren’t going to put the 4th QB into games. The first three will still want to get their snaps in blow out games. That’s why I said if all 3 stay he probably won’t get a snap.
That’s his 2020
Let’s hope the best QB in the room is the starter and I have no dog in the fight. The QB room will have passers, runners and the first SEC size all purpose QB since CDM’s return. If Richardson makes the kind of improvement he has over the past 12 months it will be interesting. May the best man win and FF heal completely.
The Trask/Jones combo only lacks the experience and power running that Franks brings in, as Trask is a more accurate passer and brings a better decision making ability and Jones is a more explosive runner than Franks.
He will get snaps....the only qb in the class and no qb in the class before him will assure he gets some work. No way Mullen goes into the following year with Emory being the only guy to ever take a snap
