Happened to be in SODO (south of Orlando downtown) and there was a lot of activity at the location of the former Pulse nightclub. Today is the 9-year anniversary of the slaughter. I mention it simply as an acknowledgment of those lives lost and fragmented and how easily we move on to the next catastrophe. Sad across the board. RIP
One of the worst weekends for the city. Friday night, a young singer gets gunned down by a stalker at the Plaza, the next night, one of the worst mass murders in US history.
Pulse nightclub used to be Lorenzo's Pizza. Good stuff. Grande cheese and Bonta tomato sauce if I had to guess. Shooter Omar Matern was born in NYC to recent refugees from Afghanistan. Omar thought of Afghanistan as his home country 9/11 happens when Omar is roughly 15 yo. US decided to: "Invade the World/Invite the World" US goes to Afghanistan to secure it's strategic gravel. Omar probably pissed. Omar Matern's dad was an FBI informant for 11 years, probably/possibly spying on refugees brought to the US from Afghanistan. Omar is briefly married for around 5 months. He was an abusive husband. His wife thinks Omar has gay tendencies, but he strives to be a perfect son to his Muslim father Self-loatjing homosexual (?) Omar kills 49 and wounds 53 gays/lesbians at Pulse nightclub Moral to the story: Don't Invade Muslim countries and Invite Muslim refugees to America. How did Invaded the World/Invite the World work out for the FBI? Their budget for monitoring refugees probably Rose sharply Above is mostly my memory of a column by Steve Sailer.
I visited the site while in Orlando a few years ago. It's a very somber place. What those people had to go through that night was unfathomable. RIP.
