Saw this posted on Twitter. Hopeful?? No ice… No limping… Looks like he had no trouble bending over. I’m grasping at straws .

Yep. The way he gripped the pen shows no signs of any hand injury.

I agree. He is not in the training room, no limp, didn’t have issues bending over, and didn’t favor the leg at all.

    Definitely nice to see.

Until I see him sprinting, I'll be trying not to get my hopes up.

Yup. You can walk easy on a mild strain. Mullen is going to want Bama to have to spend practice time on AR this week even if he can't play.

I don’t think that this has much to do with whether he’ll be able to play like he can usually play on Saturday. If he can’t be especially mobile, not clear that he should play much. What is good, and more important, is that it is clearly not a tear or more severe strain/pull, so he’ll be back soon this season.

As I have said on other threads even a minor hamstring injury usually takes a couple of weeks to completely heal. I believe he is having an MRI today to insure it is not a tear. The risk of playing with a hamstring injury is that you can cause further injury such as a tear which could cost him the whole year.

I actually hope he does NOT play against the gumps to keep him from reinjuring it and it becoming a chronic problem that limits him. We’ll need him full strength for the second and third games against the gumps. ;)

I agree with some of the folks on here. Hold him out against Alabama and let him heal. If possible maybe we can hold him out against Tennessee also. Maybe dress him for that game and send him in for the second half if EJ really stinks.
We are really going to need him the rest of the season. A loss to Alabama doesn’t take the SEC East out of our hands

Yes, but even if it was a minor hamstring injury, shouldn't he be on a table (maybe even in the locker room) getting it worked on immediately?

If there’s any risk of making it worse, I would just save him for next week. Kentucky is no pushover and that will be a tough place to play.

If EJ plays, AR-15 needs to be loosening up on the stationary bike to always be ready. Don’t need a freak injury making him unavailable.

If you think AR-15 has been sensational, wait till you see QB No. 3 against Bama.

Perhaps, but it is also true that a minor hamstring injury can either resolve in a couple days and/or not affect you one bit in a game. I’ve looked worse than AR after a hammy cramp/injury and been able to go full out with no treatment in a day or so. Not sure what the severity of his issue is, but let’s not assume the worst without cause. He looked pretty good to me in that video.

This tells us only that it's not an especially bad strain/pull.

That's a good thing. But it doesn't mean he's ready for Saturday. If you've ever seen a hammy pull it goes just like that but generally folks are able to walk around no issue within about 10 minutes unless it's a bad tear.
