I wish I knew for sure who would be starting and everything.

But with what we think we know as of today, I'm going to go Florida 27 Miami 17

I think it is close most of the way.

    Florida - 38
    Miami - 7

New head coach, new OC, new offense, RS freshman QB, freshman-laden OL, and probably a very limited offensive playbook because of that... I really don't see Miami's offense putting much on the board in this game because of those factors.

And even though I think Miami's defense has some good talent up front, even though they're quick, they're still on the smallish side, and we easily match them with team speed. If Miami's defense is all they're saying it is, then they might be in the play-offs at the end of the season... and does anyone here believe that's happening?

Florida wins this game because of four big mismatches...

    1) The Gators have a veteran coaching staff and some of the best coordinators in the business,

    2) The Gators have a big, physical, strong-armed, veteran junior QB who can also run the ball,

    3) The Gators have an offense loaded with playmakers everywhere, and

    4) The Florida Defense v.s. a young, freshman-laden Miami offense.

I think Miami will be a noticeably better team by mid-season, but in their first game? They're going to have a rough time of it against the Gators next Saturday night.

44-13 Gators.......the only QB they will have with any real game experience might just be the 3rd string come game time. Thats not a good recipe for the 1st game of the year against a defense like ours.

This is a difficult game to call because it is not just about talent. It is about execution, turnovers and keeping one's head in the game no matter what.

The magic formula is balls to the wall but under control. It is the under control part that can be a problem in a game like this. If things go South early for Miami, they could be in trouble. If we give them some breaks early, then they have enough talent to give us trouble.

We play smart and it is 31-17 UF.

Someone on another thread talks about SOS wearing teams out with passing early and running it down their throats late. With our depth at receiver, that would be a great formula. Wear their asses out and let fatigue make cowards of them all.
