Some of the best to ever play at UF, and as a Dolphins fan I saw it on Sundays as well...

...but their backing of Aaron Hernandez is gonna be a lasting legacy for them to. I wish they hadn't hitched up to that ride.

Did they ever back off their claim that he was innocent?

Are they the last active NFL players from our 2006/2008 Championship teams?

I thought they got off that ride .. maybe not entirely.
He who shall not be named fooled a lot of good people at the University of Florida during that period.
    The internet is forever.

At this time I would like to say thank you to Bobby Bowden for ignoring the Pouncey's on their visit to F$U.

Mike spoke with him the day before he died.
Maurkice was pretty upset about the netflix doc, calling parts of it "bull$hit".

Pretty sure they rode that ride until the end.

I am fine with their love for a friend, but the public support was a bad look.

Carlos Dunlop, Marcus Gilbert, Janoris Jenkins, Joe Haden are all on active rosters.
Gilbert did opt out due to covid-19.

Maurkice should be a first ballot hall of famer. 9 pro bowls, 5 time all pro, multiple championships, and arguably the best player at his position during the 2010’s decade.

You won't see them in the Ring. Being a good player doesn't overlook bad choices.

Injuries really derailed the ends of their careers.

Both were HOF caliber players skill wise.

    Maurkice will sail in.

Mike made 4 pro-bowls even with all the injuries.
Mike made the Pro-Bowl at 2 different positions.

This is obviously true for Hernandez, no Ring of honor for him.

The Pouncey twins didn’t actually DO anything except wear a stupid hat (actually multiple stupid hats). I don’t think that rises to the level to where they should be “cancelled”.

I tend to agree, but they did more then wear the hats. There were words to match. I am willing to chalk it up as love for a brother an friend, but it's not a good look.

I would vote for them to be in though. (Well Maurkice would qualify alone I believe)

    Not a 'good look', sure.

Worthy of exclusion from the HOF? Nah.

They defended his innocence, which he (AH) proclaimed. They didn't defend his *alleged* actions (it's not like they said the vics had it coming to them or such...). No one is obligated to accept another's guilt, even if the 3rd party is convicted.

And when that person is a friend/family, ppl tend to yield a bit of deference.

(Then again, in today's cancel cult, where failure to publicly proclaim and toe the party line may result in total *cancellation*...you may have a point. But it ain't a take I'd ever back).

    Jmho/fwiw.

Yeah - I don’t think you can fault them defending a friend.

As far as I can tell AH had multiple personalities. A lot of people in NE were shocked with what went down.
