Just so you know @finorman ive now rated two of your posts in this one thread as “best post ever” which obviously makes no sense. However everything you’ve posted in this discussion makes perfect sense and is spot on in my understanding.

Interesting. I can see both points of view.my assumption is that the conclusion was that news would spread through Bin Laden’s world very quickly given our noisy entry into Pakistan. But, a short delay to try to capitalize on the intel? Not a bad idea.

And in this case finorman is....spot on. For those who are bright enough to respect the opinions and views of those who are actually IN the business of intel/special ops.

At least it has more credibility than the general public, those who have never been involved with intel--ever, or the ever-present keyboard cowboys who smugly think they know everything.

  6. I'm more upset that they gave him a burial at sea. Too bad thousands didn't get a decent burial at wtc

It’s a rather obtuse statement....but I guess you were in the room during the conversation?

And just to clarify, I have been out for many years, and when I was in, I was as far away from being a decision maker as you can get... I was the definition of an Average "JOE."

As for some of compadres.... they were and are the real deal.... I wish people would know more about the real talent that continues to serve from right here from Central Florida.... maybe their names aren't recognizable, but you would absolutely recognize their work.

Thanks. Depending how far in an intel agent was, I don’t think he or she is ever completely out. Really appreciate the service. The insight into Bin Laden and the intel opportunities was something O has not heard, but it makes sense and I appreciate the info. Thanks!

You have to wonder what kind of interrogation techniques were used by the Iraqis and if the ability to use such techniques is why he was handed over to them to begin with

I appreciate your service....and respect the insight you obviously DO have to offer here. It's just a shame when you attempt to share some info or thoughts which most of us in here likely don't have access to, your effort is met with a smug & snarky attitude.

It’s all good... maybe my friend is just having a bad day... I’d give him a hug, but a sailor might take that the wrong way. I don’t always agree with River, but I think he’s a good dude.
