Any opinions on some games you could see as a trap game for the upcoming season? My ideas are South Carolina and Missouri.

That team will be beat to a bloody pulp by our matchup. Throw in TOG's horrendous coaching and most likely 1/3 of their team or more on the IR.... We should win going away.

But Auburn is my #1 pick, we should win but they always seem to steal one when they shouldn't .

I'm beginning to think that all teams, even teams like Kentucky and Missouri need to be tested for PEDs. They seem to be getting much stronger and play far above their "pay-grade" Lol... Just kidding about the pay thingy. But I would like too see all college teams testing for PEDs.

There will be no trap game. CDM learned from last year. He won’t relent with the intensity and importance of every game. By now the players understand the Gator standard and will rise to every occasion! Go Gators

It is usually when we are 6-0 or so and start feeling real good about ourselves. Happens to many teams. UK prevented it last year. Excellent coaching and team leaders can also help.

EVERY game (except Tenn-Martin and Towson) is a trap game for this team.

There is simply too much parity in this conference and in the Power 5. If we had more depth and a more experienced O Line, I'd perhaps be more brazen.

For those that need a gentle reminder.....when we snuck into the National Championship game in 2006, almost every game was a trap game.

First trap game is a week from tomorrow.

The timing of USCe lends itself to a flat performance as they come off two very emotional games, with the biggest game of the season looming after.

As Bolivia said, were just not at that point where we can show up and cruise control conference teams. Going 2-1 over the LSU/Aubbies/'Cocks stretch would be a very good showing for the program at this point.

If you break the schedule up into thirds, I think 4-0, 3-1, 3-1 is a pretty likely outcome and would propel the program forward.

Can a team that's beaten us as often as Mizzou really be considered a trap?

Exactly on the Mizzou thoughts. They beat us like a drum last year. That's hardly a trap-type game.
That's a game where we need to show them that we are better than what we've shown the last 2 years.
It's more of a toughness test than a trap game.

Tennessee is the epitome of a trap game.
I could see us being 3-0 at that point, riding high after taking revenge on UK the week prior.
Meanwhile, UT has been pointing to us all off season, thinking about atoning for the epic beatdown we gave them.
UT opens with 3 easy games, so we will be their focus I'm sure.

I could see the Gators take UT lightly since last year was such a laugher.
Then a few things go against us, we panic, and we lose a close one.

For those who think this can't happen- what odds did you place on Ole Miss beating us in 2008?
This game reminds me of that one.

Right after UGA? Towson might become the challenge The Citadel was for bama. Mizzou has an uncertain pedigree heading into the game. If they have several losses they are a trap. If they are ranked it's different.

    We play Towson after Tennessee.
We play Vandy after UGA. Last year we had Mizzou after UGA and still acted hung over from the loss.

We play Mizzou after Vandy, they've beaten us many times, and perhaps that game will be to sew up the East. Mizzou is not a trap game.

USCe definitely could be since we play them after LSU, but USCe visits UGA the prior week.
Still- that is also a big trap game for us.
