Some of us held out hope and remained positive about him... not just for the recruits and the family members that read these posts, but for whatever slim chance of hope that somehow he would change and see the light. That stubbornness never left... the light never came on. And he even had a chance to get a good OC after last season and consciously chose not to do that. He gambled on himself... betting his coaching career in Gainesville on his own stubbornness, and he lost. How many times have we seen that? Too many times. Mullen had a chance to resurrect his career here, and he chose to keep his crappy assistant coaches instead of doing what's best for the program. Napier thought he had it all worked out... all by himself, but he didn't, now he's simply waiting for that phone call. Hubris... is a coach killer.
I'm thinking '97 when I think the drive. Greatest game ever played in the swamp. What drive are you all referring to? Edit: must be UT with the Jabar Gaffney "TD" that Tenn still cries about, right?
Palmer took UF 90+ yards down the field with less than 3 minutes to go, down 3 in Knoxville to win it. That was in 2000. Wuerffel was long gone.
I was actually gonna try to watch and turned it on late in the first quarter with AM leading 3-0 and having the ball in their half. I watched em convert a couple of 3rd downs then us hold on a 4th down play and that was it for me.
Only a guy that can make people miss and see what few holes there are can run for anything in this O with this OL. And that has never been Montrell. ETN could do it but of course he ain't here anymore.
They need to change that back. Azz targeting is just a dumb thing to call. This is still tackle football.
I think that was about the time I was attempting to turn it off. Somehow it kept showing back up on the TV. Almost like trying to throw out a quija board.
Still waiting for that magic Top Coach Tree where we can pluck off a 35 year old future Nick Saban. It's gotta be around here somewhere...
