But BN is part of the reason.

Recruiting and portal matters. He has made good pickups, but subpar overall. This year is set to be worse. Unfortunately, classes add together to make a team. Better 1’s and 2’s are needed.

    And then there is coaching.

At least our rivals tanked too. LSU will be pissed, lol. And Princely, meh, no worries there.

He needs to really turn up the effort

3 years of mediocrity, the worst stretch of Florida football since the 40's. And a recruiting class that looks to be the worst in decades. But we'll get to watch "the process" for at least 1 more year. Go Gators!

OK, thanks for the advice. Make sure you do that for UCF, too.

I guess you were not around in the 70's. Our best record was 9-3 and that was one year. We won a total of 10 games in 1977,1978 and1979. Before the 70's we were not great either. Florida had never even won a SEC championship until 1984. We had a few good years but for the most part Florida was middle of the pack at best. Spurrier and Meyer were the exception. We have been back to middle of the pack since Meyer left and before Billy got here and a lot longer than 3 years. But don't let the facts get in your way.

We could do really well next year. It's going to take a lot of money. If you like pro sports then you'll enjoy cfb if your team spends. And keeps spending.

Yesterday's game is a clear example.

CBN has assembled a good roster and IMHO improved the coaching staff. All that is for naught if we can’t win football games.
This Saturday will be a war, as all SEC games are, but we win that and beat FSU AND win a bowl game, (I know, lotta ifin) we will hold enough of this team together to be on our way out of the dungeon.
Our AD and powers that be need to seriously address the SEC to work with us to lessen the backload on our schedule. A bye after Texas or LSU would help if there will be two byes next year. If only one it should be somewhere between games 5-9.
I know it’s nice to put on a valiant face and say it’s an opportunity to face the toughest schedule in college football, but putting ourselves at a disadvantage in a very competitive league is not a good thing to do. Teams, all teams, in the SEC need every competitive edge they can get.

I went to UF for undergrad during Tebow years and UCF for medical school. By no means am I a UCF football fan. I would love for them to lose every game. I do appreciate the education

We played second teamers for most of the game, they played them for a half.

I actually also did some post-graduate work at UCF, as well. I, too, would like them to lose every game. That happened for me the year they coronated themselves National Champions.

We’re dealing with juvenile behavior. Like a child just making noise to be heard. It’s annoying but short of throwing them out there’s little you can do

Let’s keep Billy because a long time ago there was a team that was even worse.

The announcers stated in the 2nd half that Texas still had a lot of starters in - was questioning it a little

Add me to a little bummed. Billy will probably keep the reign’s of the offense and people will tell us that if, we had DJ all season, Mertz wouldn’t have gotten hurt we wouldn’t have lost seven games this year, assuming we can’t beat anyone left on our schedule, sadly as a Gator fan and probable.Show us that we can win at least two more games, Show the fans and the nation. Excuses don’t show up in wins and loses, this is what all recruits and the nation sees, “what’s wrong with Florida?”

Yep, that is the difference with Spurrier. Every coach lays an egg here and there, but Spurrier actually did something about it. He didn't just keep laying more eggs.

I think Scott Stricklin knows he is on his way out pending Napier's turn around of the program. If Napier turns it around, Stricklin then has job security, but if Napier doesn't, Stricklin knows he's gone too. The vote of confidence confirms that.

I believe that you have a myopic vision of the 2024 Gator Football season.
    1. Week 1 (Miami Game) was not a very stellar start for the Gators.
    2. Week 2 (Samford Game) was definitely showed improvement. Yes, it was Samford. However, there was improvement.
    3. Week 3 (Texas AM Game) was not a total lost. There were some bright points in that game that showed improvement.
    4. Week 4 (MS State Game) was definitely a step forward for the Gators.
    5. Week 5 (UCF Game) was not a perfect game. However, there was more signs of improvement.
    6. Week 6 (Tenn Game) was not a blow out. Yes, it is still a lost, but I suggest that you look at the game stats. Both the Gator Offense and Defense had good games. Just not good enough to secure a win.
    7. Week 7 (Kentucky Game) was the last time this season that the Gators were at full strength. Both the Gator Offense and Defense had a stellar performance.
    8. Week 8 (UGA Game) was a game of two halfs. The first half had the Gators giving UGA a beating until midway inot the 2nd Quarter. That is when Lagway had a noncontact hamstring injury. Also, that is when the Gator's pass defense started loosing players too. The second half was all UGA. The Gator injuries were too big of an obstacle to overcome.
    9. Week 9 (Texas game) was another game with too many first and second stringers sitting the game out due to injuries. A lot of 3rd and 4th stringers were in this game. Thus another blow out Gator loss. There were some good points for the Gators in this game. I suggest that you take a look at the game stats. Yes, game stats do not win games. However, these stats show hope for the current Gator starters (former 3rd and 4th stringers).
    Overall:
    1. The Gators showed improvement from week 2 to week 8 (first half of the UGA game).
    2. You really cannot call Week 9 a regression because, too many first and second triggers were on the injury list. They were getting their baptism by fire.
As for this season, many of the Gators on this team have shown improvement and that there is hope in the future games.

We keep hearing about this top to bottom build as an excuse for Napier. Clearly there are issues with the administration, NIL, and his recruiting class. The schedule is brutal and injuries are everywhere.
Can we see some honesty here also; Napier is 1-10 against rivals, his winning percentage of 45% is the worst among any FLorida coach going back 12 coaches. Complete rebuild ? Indiana had NEVER won more than 8 games in a season and averaged 5 wins per year. Florida has a win percentage of 60% and has had nine seasons of at least 9 wins. Today Cignetti is 10-0 in year one. Wes Miles in his 11/8 piece (Read &Reaction) reminds us that Napier was given a blank check for his complete overhaul of the football program with his numerous hires.
