I am going to be nice here because I believe that you have no idea how any of this works. I will make it easy for you. There is this guy named Jimmy Sexton. He runs college football coaches. He also determines how much you have to pay per year for a coach. Crazy right? It gets better. This guy also uses other jobs to get all of his clients raises. So the price of a coach at UF is what he says it is no matter who it is. Got it?
Coach Dan Casey on Instagram: "This is brutal. This play gets blown dead. Kansas State settles for FG. Baylor drives and kicks 53-yd FG to win." The rules need tweaking because there are situations that punish the team with the player losing the helmet as is. This clip for example is another way. There needs to be some sort of clear path penalty here. Clock rules need tweaking as well.
Mississippi State head football coach Jeff Lebby has an annual salary of $4.35 millionfor the 2025 season, which is a $100,000 increase from the previous year. Half as much for bettter results
That is the price at MSU. The price at UF is much different. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?
What I am saying is that the price of a coach at UF is way higher than it is at MSU. UF has made terrible decisions too as to who they hired. That doesn’t change the fact that the job at UF costs twice as much as MSU for the same guy. We are also still paying Mullen 2 mil a year to go away and now we are going to pay Billy 10 mil and then 2 mil for 5 years. Don’t forget we also have to pay the roster. So it is really easy to do it when it is not your money.
And that pretty much sums up what sports writers and fans know. Nothing hits home better than the record.
Too many on here wish we lost. Most all of these “fans” did not go to the game. Those that did, had a great time.
Unexpected but not surprising. Before the season I thought LSU and Miami would be hard games to win. I also expected us to compete in them, whicb we did not. USF was a complete WTF. Lets see how we do over the next two games.
checked in on the postgame thread and had to check again to make sure we won. The Swamp was rocking. Loud as hell. All the sacks in the south end reminiscent of the Alex Brown game. I will say that Arch is strong as hell…dude is not an easy tackle. Billy has been terrible, but thought that he called a very good game other than the 2 inexplicable shots downfield along the right sideline. Second one that was picked was especially egregious. It was great to see the kids with juice and having a good time, they deserve it. Hopefully serve as a building block, not the high point of the season.
I have finally arrived back home in St. Augustine after a very long and wonderful day. I was in the south end zone, section 59, and we were absolutely feral and rocking. Was nice seeing the defense feed off that. I was pleased my mojo worked. I am happy. I also have no voice left, as is right and proper. I am going to bed now. LOL
The biggest blunder of the game was Billy accepting the offside penalty. Sark intentionally had his guy go offside for a reason. 1st and 10 was far better for Texas than 2nd and 1. Yet Billy had no idea it was intentional. Thats what analytics are all about. He allowed Sark to school him. We went from 1 yard to win the game to needing 10 yards. Stuff like that is how you determine a good coach vs a bad coach. He was just clueless
