I think the TV announcers completely dropped the ball there. Napier made the CORRECT call to keep his starting left tackle in the game. But, the play didn’t work so it compounded the confusion/angst.

End of day, the correct play calls were to run the ball, the players didn’t execute well enough to get the 1st down (in large part due to Texas playing with utter desperation). Thank goodness the defense played so spectacularly well, particularly as Manning started figuring this game out mid game. I think he is going to be VERY good but we caught him at the perfect time.

 

Where did you have Texas ranked in your personal rankings? Where did you have UF? Was UT rated higher in your rankings? In the rest of the world they were ranked higher and we beat them. Enjoy the win.

The announcers made it more confusing saying Billy didn’t accept the run off when it was Texas.

 

So then did USF beat the number 15 or 12 team or whatever the hell we were when they beat us?

 

And get who? And lose all these talented players

It doesn’t matter. AP polls are dumb and mean nothing until end of season. UF was ranked in top 20 to start season. Clearly not a top 20 team.

 

Seems he plays not to win most quarters. lol

 

They beat the team with the rank that they were at the time. Seriously, why are we arguing the rankings? I think that the only reason is that there are a lot of people that are rooting against us because of Billy. I want him out too, but I also want to win. I don’t understand those that don’t. He will be gone at the end of the year when we don’t make the playoffs. If he surprises and we do, then he stays.

 

So what, the polls change weekly. That does not change the fact that we just beat #9.

 

I'm really happy for the players for the win and the fans who were out in force and loud and made a difference.
