POST GAME DISCUSSION Texie vs Gators

What a win! 29-21. Clearly the best game Florida has played this year. Defense was outstanding . . . exposing another over-rated Manning. Despite the ESPN announcers and their constant pumping.

There is certainly a lot to discuss regarding coaching decisions though.

 

That timeout was weird, thank goodness it didn't come back to bite us

EDIT: Timeout was actually correct, refs/announcers made it confusing

 

Least Billy 2nd half, until that timeout, I can remember. Played to put it away, and won, funny how that works.

Glad we have such a dumb coach. Made a game which could have been a 2-3 touchdown win into a thrilling win.

Weird they didn't let us enjoy the post game celebration or hear the Billy interview.

 

Agree 0 points in the 4th. Billy Ball at the best. Score less and less as the game goes on.

Perfect outcome - we win but everyone still knows Napier is an idiot with that timeout.

Great, great win, but Billy almost gave the game away at the end. Nobody in the world past, present or future would have decided to take a timeout in order to prevent a 10 second run off when you are trying to run the clock out. Sark taught Billy a master class of how to manage the clock. It was like watching a Master chess player teach a checkers noob. 5 minutes to go, uses up his timeouts, gets the ball back, scores a TD and almost had a chance with no timeouts. All he had to do was wait for Billy to hand him the game and it almost happened.

 

Trying to understand that. The clock stopped because Barber lost his helmet. My thing is does the clock start on the ready to play, or on the snap?

If the clock starts on the snap, then the TO was a good idea. If the clock starts on the ready to play, then Napier should have kept the offense on the sideline, let 24 seconds run off the clock, then call the TO and get Barber into the game for a 3rd and 5.

 

Now we have to wait at least until Nov 2nd

 

Well I've been saying a while now that on Saturdays, it's Billy Napier vs The Florida Gators. Billy tried his best, but the Gators won in spite of ....

 

Offense played well enough to win. Go GATORS!!
