I don’t mind the regular ads but this video ad is persistent and obscures part of the screen. I have to click the X multiple times to put it down. No bueno.

As a far away and longtime participant in this one of a kind Gator forum....I beg you. Literally beg you....Stop the PopUPS! I know there are worst things happening in the world but these videos are driving me to the point of losing favor with the experience here and I don't want that to happen. Help!!!

When the pop-ups started on GC I ignored the inconvenience by cancelling them out. They got worse. Then they got even worse. They've increased so much in both frequency and screen dominance that they are threatening to render the site infeasible. Spend half the time here cancelling them out just to read a post. The necessity of non-stop wack-a-mole is overwhelming the experience.

Honestly it should just be a perk that they shouldn't have ads for paying customers.

But yeah I agree the side popups are pretty annoying. Top and btm banners are fine.

I haven't been able to use this site without an ad blocker for over a year now. It is in fact unusable without one

I find this to be the case with most websites I visit now, even with multiple ad blockers installed. It’s like whack-a-mole all day long.

I cant recall buying one thing I saw in an intrusive ad be it on here or facebook. If an ad pops up on a video on Facebook or YouTube I literally stop watching or skip if it is an option. I guess it works for them. They must have to show a ROI but not on me.

Certainly GC can’t be blamed for the market trend. (Although it is, by far, the worst here.)

Perhaps some of it can be reduced on our end with blockers (welcome suggestions).

To extent the GC managers can help, would be appreciated.

Agree banner ads top and bottom not such a big deal. They don’t shade the content.

I strongly recommend AdBlockPlus. Free and easy extension to Google chrome, even works on Youtube.

The forums are pretty clean using the Stands Fair Ads Blocker. Don't spend much time on the 'other' portions of the site though.

You could use a script blocker in adblock plus or another method with ublock origin - both are browser plugins and afaik, are good on pcs, tablets, chromebooks - but not sure about their success on cell phones.
