Sounds like he's working up to a good cry.
His "least gifted" team is probably still loaded with McDonald's All-Americans.

Exactly. He said that without Cole Anthony (a lottery pick) they only have 1 other McD. How unfortunate for him - now he has to actually COACH.

His bio needs an asterick. Won two NCs with ineligible players. Cheater.

I called that on this board after their first 2 games. It was literally Anthony, Bacot, and a bunch of Jags. They were going to lose plenty, even with Anthony. When he went down it was obvious they would be, at best, a mid-pack ACC team. That is literally their ceiling w/out Anthony. Still, I'm not sure why a coach would say that. I can't imagine that being a positive motivator for the players.

exactly, he recruited and coaches these guys. Granted they've had some tough luck with injuries. But throws his team under bus with no mention of coaching deficiencies.

So the real fun starts this weekend for them.
Clemson is something like 0-61 in chapel hill all time, and comes into town with a legit shot to end that streak.
Will be hilarious if they pull it off, UNC fans will freak out.

Meanwhile Billy has his "least gifted" NBA team and is doing an amazing job.
    It's called coaching Roy.

University of Non-Compliance is 8-7, 1-3. The new RPI like Index that The NCAA has adopted is called The NET. UNC is currently ranked #108. That would make them a 27 seed in the tourney.

Ken Pom has them at 71. A 17 seed.

Geez! embarrassing for a blue blood. Other blue bloods will likely expel them from the “blue blood clubhouse” if this continues!

I wonder if he might bail on the rest of the season because his back hurts.

Because a Narcissist can't stand the idea of his legacy being tarnished. It bothers him so much that rather than save face and accept this isn't a good year he makes an ass out of himself by blaming the players. Egomaniac plain and simple

After their academic issues they had and skipped by, their recruiting is being watched a little closer! handlers are wary! They should be investigated by the feds first and review academic records over the last 25 years and after the findings, if found irregular, then take away any championships they had and not let them in the NCAA tournament for the same amount of time. Once they are reduced to being a losing program, books can be written about coaches that used cheating in various ways to get reputations they didn’t deserve! Reminds me of LSU in football and basketball, Alabama in football, Arizona and Kentucky in basketball. The NCAA never fails to let money drive their thinking, giving blue bloods every opportunity to make up whatever to skip by. These schools hire former NCAA enforcement people to help them skip, think Tennessee new player Cade Mayes hiring Ted Mars, what a sham. We will be playing against him next year instead of him transferring and sitting out one year! Book it.

More than that, when the going gets tough do you man up, work harder, and pull together or do you point fingers and shirk blame. Whether he can coach or not, his true colors are on full display - guy is a snake.

What I got from that snippet is that he has only won games in the past because he had the more gifted team. Sounds as though he threw himself under the bus!
