How would one quantify that? I imagine it’s a flier. Good size and prolly talked to someone who knows him. I guess. PWO maybe?

There is no such thing as a PWO as of 2026. Schools have a hard cap of 105 players all getting scholarships or at a minimum a partial scholarship.

I have a theory why the SEC may be down.

Scholarships went to 105 in 2025 but the SEC self-imposed an 85 limit. So a PWO in the SEC went to another team(like IU) in the P4 and got a scholarship.
So other conferences were stacking depth the SEC got the leftovers. That has changed in 2026, the SEC is now funding 105 scholarships.

The other way to look at it is this lowest rated transfer had better stats in all categories than our top TE last year, Hansen.

My main take is that we aren't playing "that game" yet and so, we are getting potential rather than proven SEC talent. Not really any different than Sumrall. I was trying to give light to those who want to come here and gruff...or refute it.

Yes, we are not getting that talent at TE. Amir is the first decently ranked guy we have recruited for catching ability since Pitts, and he is/was completely raw.

And probably overrated by the nerds.

  15. This just means that the SEC needs to manage its roster more like the NFL. I think I heard a similar idea on Gator Nation Football Podcast: focus the resources on about 60 athletes and let the rest take care of itself.

Imagine of the roster budget looked like this:
    • Tier 1, 22 players, 50% of budget
    • Tier 2, 22 players, 25% of budget
    • Tier 3, 22 players, 15% of budget
    • Tier 4, 20-40 players, 10% of budget
Eliminate the "walk-ons" except for legacy players and sons of influential people (such as Anthony Rubio). That brings back 10% of the budget to reallocate elsewhere.

These numbers are notional. I sure there are better algorithms than this one. If I had that algorithm I would not be here on the forum working for free. This is just an example.

Yeah, this has been the worst kept secret in college football. No surprise here.

Closed for entering the portal, not closed for signing/enrolling with a new school. Also Miami and Indiana players still have time to enter the portal.

It’s no surprise the weasel Darren Heitner is deeply involved in this.
