Id say winning a NC in baseball is a lot harder since you have a different team out there every game do to the starting pitcher. Facing a mediocre team with a dominating pitcher often ends in a loss.

The SEC Championship drought is devastating. Here's an interesting stat. The longest drought we've had without an SEC title under Sully is 3 seasons, and it's happened ONE time (2019, 2021, 2022)...bookended by SEC Championship and CWS runs. DVH point that out to me.

IMO, this year was an odd collection of injuries, bad breaks, and the team not being hyper focused. I was watching Coppola pitching, and it was very obvious he was very, very uptight. He looked so nervous i felt bad for him (and the team). Him not being able to throw a strike has nothing to do with his ability, his injury, or anything like that. I just think some of the players didnt have the correct mindset to compete this time around. I saw Nadeau strike out bunting. I know the players are taught to bunt, and it's just a very weird situation to strike out bunting on 3 attempts. I also noticed ECU successfully bunting a number of times. Lots of little things add up to big things.
Sully is a great coach, and i believe he will figure this all out and get the team on track again for great things.

For the sake of discussion, can it be considered thoughtful analysis to make a long-winded series of vague generalities one might hear from some of the kids who populate announcer chairs for ESPN+? Is it a convenient way to say one lives for championships every season and won't be satisfied with less?

I stopped reading after the second word.

Better to keep silence and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. But in two words?

    Impressive.

    MOST impressive.

There are a VERY few people on this board who are wise enough to observe and analyze/critique the performance of an organizations as complex and baffling as a college baseball team, over as long a span of time as an entire season and conclusively state that the causes leading to a disappointing finish are "obvious".

Something may be 'APPARENT' ("This was a disappointing performance") without the causes for the event being "obvious".

I love this guy. Not only do you get it, but you are incredibly artful about how you express it.

Is it impossible that we get great pitchers in the portal? Or should we go through several high school pitchers just to find that one Friday night guy? It's all about the pitching. The year (2017) we won the World Series we had the best pitching room in the nation. Get the best pitchers and Sully will field the rest.

Perhaps spoiled by Hurston Waldrep, was disappointed that Sully couldn't or wouldn't bring in a weekend quality starter this past off-season. Not sure about NIL money for baseball, but I hope with Sully's reputation that we're able to land that third weekend starter that we desperately need.

Thanks for the opening to point out that there's no excuse for anyone who cares enough about Gator baseball to follow this board, should feel obligated to put SOME/ANY amount into Gator baseball NIL. $10/month is OK, $10 once is OK, more is better.
