Wow. I especially like the part that says, "Booster Charlie Anderson badly wanted Pruitt as the coach and didn’t think that Dan Mullen had won enough for the job..."

The way I read it was like what happens in the NFL and Belichick's assistants: they "know things" others do not. Saban's minions get too much credit.

What I found so damning about Pruitt's background was that we went lateral three times. He met his level and yet Tennessee thought he was a better candidate than a proven SEC HC. Damn silly.

But I am not really complaining.:)

Hope Pete never has cause to wield that rapier in UF’s direction.

    Brutal.

    Opening line of the article:

"Throughout his career, Tennessee athletic director Phillip Fulmer has earned the reputation as a relentless backstabber."

    OUCH. Correct, but brutal

Stunning indictment of Mr. Fulmer for sure.
One thing is certain, UT is as low as I have ever seen them.

I enjoyed UF hammering them but it is shocking to see an SEC University
with so many resources become so pedestrian.

Sure UF has "yo-yoed" since Urban left but UT has been on a rather consistent downward spiral since 2001.

We've won 16 of 20 this century- just insane for a school who competed for national titles with us in the mid to late 90s.

I'm trying to think of another coach who hung around his old program after he was fired.
Retired- yes. That happens a lot. (It usually doesn't work well, but it happens.)

But who is allowed to hang around after being fired?

Phil is the only one I can think of- and that hasn't turned out well.
