And it’s only June.
It's not just the record. It's also the guy he took it from. Most impressive.
I am more impressed that he broke a season record that has stood for 35 years before the All Star Break. That's crazy.
Back in 2016 I said that I thought there was a good chance Alonso would end up with the best career of our ridiculously stacked draft class. Still too early to do any bragging about that, of course, but he has a very good shot at that distinction. I understood why he "fell" to the second round - injury concerns, defensive question marks. But a bat like that always plays.
Go get Mac's record now Petey. just gotta beat 33.
He hasn’t been traded to the AL. As of now defense not a liability.
You can kick the ball around the park like its a soccer game if youre sitting on 27 bombs with a week left in June. LOL
28! Love my Braves but I wont lie that I was rooting for him a little there for a solo job up like we were. Dude is locked in.
But hes at 1st tonight??? LOL
I’m not sure what you mean by the 1st base comment. I think tonight is the 78th time he’s been at 1st base this season.
Sometimes the HR derby impacts a player’s swing or production after the event. Great for fans, but perhaps not for those competing. Would be great to see Pete get 50 dingers and 100 RBIs this year. Absent injury, he should do so. Mets roster sucks, so they may pitch around him the second half.
I was just making a joke - a bad one obviously - about the defense. LOL
2 BB and a HBP through 4 today. Not necessarily a sign of things to come but interesting in light of your comment.
Nobody can break you out of a slump like Julio. LOL
