First concert I ever went to. All time legend. The Disney doc that came out last year was really good

Can't read the article because of NYT paywall but I liked the Beach Boys earlier works. Little Duce Coupe, Surfin USA, In my room, ect. Those were the songs I grew up with in my girl chasin' days. RIP Brian Wilson.

Brian was amazing. Loved his falsetto.
Mike Love carried the band as lead though.

Listened to The Beach Boys Love You last night; pretty much a BW solo effort. It’s so weird

We found the one Mike Love was the best Beach Boy guy, somehow I knew it would be you

That is one of the better late albums, arguably their last good one

Mike Love and Carl were also responsible for keeping the druggie Wilson boys from falling off the wagon.
If it weren’t for Love, many beach boy songs would not exist.

He was definitely the dad of the group, and not just because he was balding at 25. Anyways, my favorite song on Pet Sounds, Mike has the lead on.

Dennis Wilson’s Pacific Ocean Blue is 1 of the best BB / BB related albums IMO

Its really the only good 'solo' album from the group. There are a few decent BW solo albums. There are also some where he covers Disney songs lol. Does Van Dyke Parks count as BB related?

Even in his later years, he could produce stuff like this Gershwin cover:
