I 'liked' your post but disagree to an extent. In addition to being a racist, Trump is thoroughly misogynistic. For a guy like that, there's nothing worse than getting owned by a woman he can't control. Schiff presents a cerebral approach, but Pelosi knows how to twist the knife. Trump rage tweets so much people stop listening. Then she makes him look like a fool in the Oval Office meeting or gives him the long arm clap or tears up his speech and it goes viral. The people who despise Pelosi the most are angry white male republicans and that's not where the Democrats power sits. It sits with minorities and educated women who've had to put up with misogynists all their lives. To them, Pelosi is someone who does what white guys can't do.

Nancy was given the perfect opportunity to rise above the deplorable partisanship that drove the impeachment process and could not make the right choice. Instead, she failed and proved that she is just another sad political hack. Trump may be a lousy person, but Nancy P appears to be even worse.

Trump was largely voted in being PotUS via anti-Clinton sentiment. Democrats promoted Pelosi into the speakership over others who were quite likely much better suited for the position.

    She absolutely failed here.

Considering Trump’s track record, this is one seriously bold statement.

Here I disagree. If Trump was just voted in because of anti-Clinton sentiment, we wouldn’t have 90% in party approval ratings and posters here defending things they wouldn’t have dreamed of a few years ago. People voted for him and still love him because he was the republican nominee. Everything else is just rationalization.

Disagree. People did vote against Hillary then find Trump was a more capable PotUS than the left would like Americans, especially those on the right, to believe. Anyway, the point made is that the incremental vote for Trump in the deciding states were most likely anti-Clinton as many independents and some democrats voted for Trump instead of another Clinton.

We go from one extreme to the other. Was it appropriate? No. Is it reason to forfeit the right to occupy office? No. Is it reason to resign? No. In all of these cases it is up to voters and the Democrats in the house to decide her fate.

None the less this fiasco was initiated by the Democrats based on weak and presumptive evidence and partisan politics that skirted the law and traditions across the board. Mr McConnell has even given Mrs Pelosi an out. Her fellow Democrats made her do it versus impeachment being her own initiative. If that is truly the case we will see how her party treats her as in their eyes she failed miserably.

This fiasco was started by the corrupt Impotus. The evidence is correct, damning, and tellingly not even aggressively challenged by the Impotus legal team. Would skirting the law include Moscow Mitch colluding with the defense team, having the first Senate Impeachment without witnesses and evidence, staging a bogus "walk-in" in the House?

The articles of impeachment have been voted on. End of story concerning this round of events. It is obvious that the charges fell short of clear and compelling evidence without mentioning treason, bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors.

As far I'm concerned Mrs Pelosi should be afforded the same with regards to her tenure in office.

This is an interesting claim, and a tough one to evidence. Both groups would see their own views validated by looking at Trump’s results, almost like seeing the distance increasing between two celestial bodies in empty space and trying to figure out which one is moving.

In our case, you’ve made the claim that Pelosi has shown herself to be a worse person than Trump, which sounds to my ears like an all-out assault on the very meaning of human decency.

We’re talking about a guy whose been sued for racial discrimination and made several racist remarks, including claiming that president wasn’t even American and that the Central Park Five are still guilty. A guy who bragged about his ability to get away with sexual assault and has been accused by several women of assault. A guy who cheated on his wife with a porn star just after she had their kid and paid immense sums to keep it quiet. A guy who mocked John McCain because “he was captured” and continues to insult him after his death. A guy who continues to make personal insults to anybody that doesn’t talk about how great he is, including saying of one of his female republican rivals “look at that face!”. A guy who said that dodging STDs was his own personal Vietnam, after making up a disorder to get out of serving in Vietnam. A guy who hasn’t once apologized for any single thing above.

I agreed with you that Pelosi’s behavior at the SOTU was a dreadful failure, but can we possibly produce a list of Pelosi’s actions that matches Trump’s disdainful collection?

I'm on mile 32 of a stationary bike ride and trying to type on an iPad so please excuse my short reply, question:

If Nany P is so much (any) better than Trump, why did she choose to pre-tear the pages during the speech, then dramatically rip the pages upon completion of the speech? If she's better than Trump, why didn't she make the better choice and rise above her rather significant petty partisanship and Trump-hate?

First, I’m very impressed by your exercise. I haven’t done almost any exercise in 10 years, let alone biking 32 miles.

Second, I’m afraid I don’t entirely understand your question. On one side, we have that long list of hateful, spiteful, racist, and misogynistic behavior. On the other, we have paper ripping. I don’t understand how the starting point here would be assuming that the paper ripping is worse than the long awful list, and therefore the onus is to prove otherwise.

Started cycling last May and have ridden approx 3100, most on the road. I ride a stationary when weather is bad.

I will change my question to this, if Pelosi is the better person of the two, why wasn't she that at the end is the SotU speech? Perhaps her actions at that time have given the American people a glimpse of the real Pelosi? She had a choice and failed horribly.

Congrats man. Hope to emulate you on that. (Personally I blame my lack of exercise on having kids, but everyone has kids, so this is probably just a rationalization.)

Anyway, again, I am absolutely with you in saying that Pelosi failed. I would also be happy if other democrats criticized her or even censured or removed her, but I know that would never happen. So perhaps we aren’t talking the same language. I would agree that she’s now no better than Trump in this personal aspect. But considering the startling number of aspects im which Trump has failed, I can’t go along with a blanket statement that Pelosi is a worse person overall than Trump.

It's OK to lie one's behind off like a dog on a rug and it's ethical, but tearing up a copy of a document is worse. Umkay. Florida Man strikes again.

I would prefer that Nancy not do that, but seriously...

Defining their office seems to be the norm amongst the politicians in DC. The stupidity Trump engages in doesn’t excuse her behavior.

Unreal, Trump DAILY degrades the office he was elected too and has a morning twitter rant (every day) that 13 year old girls would blush over and people are saying Pelosi is a jerk after he refused to shake her head and she tore his speech up?

Calling the President out on a load of intentional deceit is doing America a service.

The person who should resign is the one who promotes a non-stop flow of "alternate facts", often to the benefit of our primary global adversary and the detriment of our allies as well as our country. He is a national disgrace. And he's proud of it.
