Dameon Pierce is his player of the game??? He was the 4th leading rusher and averaged less than 4 yards per carry. Is Pat even watching the games? Meanwhile, Malik Davis averaged around 9 yards per carry.

There was some really good blocking going on by the RBs. Maybe that is what got Pearce the nod?

I think if you read it how he meant it, he is predicting Pierce and Cox to be the players of the week this upcoming week (he says "will be" as in "in the future"), after picking Emory (correctly, as he notes) for last week (the Alabama game). Of course, he could have made it more clear by adding a couple commas to offset the part about Emory Jones, but it is not like he is a journalist or something. Just look at all the errors in his first paragraph.

If I read it how he meant it, what did he mean by Pierce ran like a man possessed?

Dooley is a good dude. He is just mired in the paper vs. the internet. Last week I went out to get my paper (I still get it delivered only because my beautiful lab likes to get it) and there was no article about the Jax St v FSU game. I had already laughed and read 10 articles on the web about the semis sitting on their own spear. That is the issue.

Meaning Pierce ran like a mad man, so he expects him to play well this upcoming week. I don't know man, I think that is what he meant, but who can tell?

    Dooley is very astute.

If you look at the end of this run, you will see Pierce attempting to fly from the endzone.

Off camera there were a group of Saban Worshippers in Crimson sacrificing a mutated elephant in effigy.

Upon careful review, it appears Pierce floated in the air for an unnatural length of time....

He is. But honestly, I prefer the new guy, Whitley. Maybe because it is just a change of pace after all these years, and maybe all his jokes will get old as well, but he doesn't talk about himself all the time, so I like that. Plus, Whitley had some great Norm MacDonald references in his article today, so that was a plus.

Pierce’s stat line in this game wasn’t great but he is the hardest runner of the group. Ideally dudes are following their blocks and making open field plays to gain extra yards, but Pierce is the one that can knock a defender on his ass. I believe the past 2-3 seasons he’s been by far our best RB in yards after contact.

That said he probably doesn’t have the vision and agility needed to avoid contact in the first place, which is why others have been getting the ball more and have been more successful. I find it hard to believe that Nayquan doesn’t flash this weekend again. What he did in limited time against Bama was legendary…I want to see more out of him.

But ultimately Davis has been and will likely continue to be the best overall.

Unbelievable that we have 2 5-stars that barely see the field because the backfield is already stacked.

Heard something that almost sounded like it couldn’t be correct. He’s got like 5 tuddies on 17 touches …can that be correct ?

Sorry - didn't word that correctly. I live in Jax and still get the Times Union. I still read Mr. Dooley online. My point was that print media is basically dead now.

Well, we have a former 5-star that was unable to get playing time at Miami, after an injury, and a former 5-star that is a freshman and has not been in the program very long. Have you seen Lingard when he does play?

Yeah I didn’t mean he’s some monster we’re holding back but he really doesn’t get a chance because of everything in front of him. In the limited time he has been out there it hasn’t been special though. Agreed on Bowman too, it’s not an indictment on the 5-stars for Bowman just yet but rather a good sign for the rest of the talent. Need Bowman to keep working himself in this season to step up next year. Lingard may be a lost cause at some point but I hope he can pull something together next season.

I'm not quite ready to throw ole Pat under the bus just yet, but he is becoming sloppy and lazy.
I'm seeing increasing numbers of typos and fact errors.
Sadly, it appears he is just cranking stuff out for the bucks.
    Come on Pat
    You're better than that!

Becoming? That became evident during the McElwain experiment. Fact errors and flat out lies were coming from him at that time.He even admitted as much on the air the Monday after McElwain’s last game.
