Trask is a winner while Franks was a gamer. Both will give you 100% but being in control of your emotions for a QB is as important as knowing the offense. Franks wanted to win the game while Trask wants to win every play.

Im not a crystal ball zealot but i will say that before a commitment people typically flood the crystal balls with the pick. For all the talk about Miami for the palmetto guys i have seen almost none to 0 crystal Balls to miami yet.

If you still rock with rivals then they're all in on Taylor to Miami

For EJ to really be effective they need to have him throw it frequently when he goes in. These wildcat formations when everybody in the stadium knows it’s a running play before the players are even set have always been a head-scratcher to me

EDIT: from the numbers provided earlier in this thread, apparently he threw almost as much as he ran - but to me it didn’t seem that way

When on the field EJ throws often enough to make the defense respect his accuracy. He throws a nice long ball and without a couple pass interferences would have added substantially to his passing yards. Hoping we get to see more of Jones total grasp of the offense in ‘20.

So how does landing Watson affect our ability to land the two palmetto DTs? Or vice versa? I would think we take all 3 if possible?

I think what messes with everyone's head is twofold:

    1) Neither Franks nor Trask are running "The Offense" as it was designed, so when EJ rolls in and is actually just going QB run or keeping on the read in +1 and +2 scenarios, that's how it's supposed to work. It's not training wheels, just the correct QB play.

    2) Given the OL deficiency, in many instances when EJ came in it was really to sub for the OL/RB combo more than KT. Many got bent when EJ would 'break the flow' for a play, but it wasn't really EJ instead of Trask dropping a dime 15 yards down field, it was EJ replacing Trask handing it to the RB for a no gain. Strategic smoke and mirrors running game by CDM, rather than QB development reps.

EJ was given wide latitude last season and executed at a very high level for a rook. He'll get a bunch of opportunities this season and it's up to him to continue to execute them.

If you really want to feel better about what CDM intends, here's the stats against AU when EJ went in for an injured Trask with the game on the line:

    • 13 plays
    • EJ = 6 passes (4/6), 2 runs (10 yds), 5 hand off to RBs (23 yards - no zero/negative rushes by RBs ).

    That is the offense.

Nope. I think we can go ahead and pencil in Watson. So there's Watson, Chris Thomas at DT this cycle. We may miss on Taylor. Not sure of Collins and if he is an actual take at this moment.

You’re saying nope to they do not affect eachother? If we can get all 3, we take them?

also, are the two palmetto DTs a package?

Yes. Watson doesn't effect Taylor or/and Collins.

No the Palmetto DT's arent a package. Refer to this post i made in another thread last month about Collins

Leonard Taylor and Savion Collins to UF?

Both QBs had their own strengths and weaknesses. What separates Trask from Franks is being smooth. When it came to being smooth and composed I think Trask and Wuerffel are comparable.

With this said, I think Franks is still getting better and he has passion to make it happen. I will be rooting for Arkansas just because if Franks.

It really makes me mad of what a crap job Coach MaC was doing with Franks.
