hard to understand why the left is so upset about a celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Army- there is no mention that I have seen in the lead up by the administration-
Ahhh, DC in the summer. High humidity, thunderstorms, 90 degree heat, we've got it all. I hope they're paying the seat fillers enough to make watching tanks roll by in the broiling heat and/or torrential downpour worth their while.
I guess I was factoring in humidity. From the Post: Saturday could be the most painfully humid day of the next several (with dew points near 70) while highs reach the mid-80s. Hit-or-miss showers and storms will probably start to fire back up by late afternoon and continue well into the evening So maybe more like 85 -86. Bottom line, not a good day to sit still for hours on concrete sidewalks.
We don't do military parades in this country. That's for places like North Korea and Russia. Trump is envious of those places and wants to be like them.
Apparently he was also impressed by France's Bastille Day parade when he visited that country in 2017.
Its more like the 80th anniversary of the Army. Those years before WWII we were against the idea of a large standing Army, it was antithetical to American values. This is more of a glorification of the military industrial complex we havent been able to quit.
Very sad if you are not being intentionally goofy. for instance if there is a 20% chance that it will rain for each of 5 hours on a day & 0% for the other 19 hours, the chance of rain for the day is 67%.
Was that the one where the French tanks mounted the white flags and drove backwards out of the city at a high rate of speed??
No issue with weather forecasting generally, although specific to Apple weather (since it’s the one linked/screenshotted here) I will note that it seems to be about the most useless weather app around if you’re looking for a forecast more than about 45 minutes out lol
We used to do them all the time. US History is full of the military conducting parades on Friday and Saturdays at bases around the country back in the 19th and early 20th Centuries. It use to be the start of the social engagements of the bases. We done ticket tape parades for WWI, WWII, and one back in 1991.
