Tonight is black-eyed peas with ham (not enough for a full course for everyone) and hot dogs. Hebrew National and no ketchup. Chicago rules in our house. Hot German mustard and kraut with an option for Chicago relish and celery salt as well.

Don't have pickle spears but we have ball park mustard, Chicago pickle relish, sport peppers, onion and tomatoes for a Chicago dog missing the poppy seeds on the bun. We do have some Vienna beef dogs in the freezer for real Chicago dogs but Hebrew National is a very acceptable substitute. When i want to really get it right I make a butter wash and sprinkle poppy seeds on the bun.

Didn’t get this posted earlier as we took supper over to Kayla and John Luke’s house for John Luke’s Mama’s birthday. Alan and his family were also there.

I grilled BBQ chicken. We made barbecue baked beans, coleslaw, deviled eggs, and Ms. Jan’s homemade potato salad. We also had fresh sliced tomatoes and cucumbers.

We had a homemade coconut cake and a strawberry cheesecake for birthday sweets.

Tumblers of bourbon and chilled wine was available.

Life is good in Gator Nation!
