Home made chicken noodle soup last night. Really good.

My symptoms are still lingering and now my MIL has it. I walked her dog for his morning and afternoon rituals in between downpours. LOTS of much needed rain last night and today.

Tonight will be bland: rice, apple sauce and pounded and lightly floured chicken breasts fan fried in olive oil. Maybe add some toasted baguette in there as well. Pretty much a beige dinner.

    Only one ball game tonight.

This afternoon bout 2pm I’ll be putting three racks of baby backs on the BGE for supper this evening. I’m using pecan wood for smoke today.

Sides will be BBQ baked beans, Ms. Jan’s homemade Mac & Cheese, deviled eggs, and freshly steamed broccoli and cauliflower.

Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine are available as desired.

Tonight I’m going to be grilling thick cut bone-in pork chops indirect over cherry wood smoke.

We’re having the leftover Mac & Cheese, BBQ baked beans, and coleslaw from the ribs to go with.

Cooler here this evening @ 66* so a tumbler of Knob Creek small batch 100 proof will do nicely. Ms. Jan’s sticking with her wine.

Marinating inside skirt steak in olive oil and lime juice to grill on the KJ for fajitas. Made rajas (blistered and skinned poblanos seeded and cut about 1/4 inch wide mixed with sauteed onion) already and will warm up just before serving. Will sauté red, yellow and green bell peppers with onion as an additional topping.

I'll have more toppings than needed but I will find a use for them soon.

Last night was homemade pizza made by some friends. Their youngest son is getting into coin collecting so I gave him an Indian Head penny that I got in my change when I was around his age. I have at least one more somewhere. I think I have a few extra "silver" wartime nickels so someday I will give him one of those. The last one I found in my change was from the soda machine near the loading dock at my building at UF back in the mid-1980's.

There will also be fried cornbread on the side.

Evening refreshments are available as desired.

Chili tonight. Choice of just chili, chili spaghetti or chili dogs.

Going to Orlando tonight for a couple of days. Dinner reservations at The Bosphorus tomorrow night. Looking forward to Turkish lamb shanks. Yum.

Tonight we’re having a baked four cheese lasagna casserole. Our sides will be a freshly made Caesar salad and yeast rolls.

Got all the yard work done today-a tumbler of Knob Creek Small Batch 100 proof is proving quite enjoyable. Ms. Jan’s going with her chilled wine.

Lol—thank goodness I’ve just got the one property! Actually I got the hedges cut and the weed-eating done Saturday so today was just burning the trash pile of trimmings and the riding mower.
