Those Instant Grits I bought are pretty good. I will explore your recommendation when these are gone. Thanks! ;)

Today I brought Stavros take-out over to Mom's again for lunch. Got something different this time....the Feta Florentine pizza. And Greek salad, of course.

I thought the pizza was a nice change of pace but the spinach didn't break off too good and I always ended up with a whole leaf in my mouth. Not the end of the world but worthy of a mention.

Mom's doing good. 98 years old and still functioning with the basics. Saw on the news tonight the death of a popular children's book author - and she lived to age 104, so who knows.

I ran into an old girlfriend last week at an irrigation supply house and she was eating a Granny Smith apple, so I bought a package of them from Publix (Greenwise) and gave 2 to a client of mine today. The wife said she was on a diet but could eat a small amount, but temptation would be strong because she loves them so much. I'm more of a Red Delicious person myself, but am always curious when I observe what others are doing food-wise.

Softball on TV tomorrow (LSU) and baseball on Sunday (USCe)...woohoo! :)

    Have a great night!

    Happy Saturday everyone! ;)

For lunch.....I'm enjoying some of my homemade chicken veggie soup....yum! I like to make two big crock pots of it and then freeze a bunch of small containers so I can enjoy it for weeks to come.

I got a Nuts dot com order today too! Sesame sticks, choco covered almonds, beef jerky, choco rocks, and twizzlers! :D

After I finish this soup I'm headed back outside to continue working on a project I'm doing here. Then back in at 5 for softball!

The Wild Bunch is on TV right now too....Bill Holden and a fantastic cast. Classic Peckinpah!

Over 15.5 hours into an almost 9 pound pork shoulder, but getting close. Unattended overnight and from looking at the meat, grill, and coals this morning I think that it ran hot for a while and then cool. I had to add coals this morning. The airflow was choked down to the usual levels so I wonder why it might have run very hot for a while.

I think it will all work out eventually.

Alan’s grilling pizza on the BGE.

The weather is pleasant, the beer and wine is ice cold, and the game was NOT GOOD.

However, Life is good in Gator Nation!

When you have an almost 9 pound pork shoulder for pulled pork and only five people eating (A dear friend of my wife joined us for dinner. Lawyer and southern girl from near Macclenny. She has hunted gator in Florida and big game in Africa.). There was a lot of leftovers.

Guess what is on the menu tonight.

When you do chicken halves is like a spatchcocked chicken but separated? Pretty much the same thing in my mind.

Tonight on the mountain I have a big pot of spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove in Alan’s kitchen.

Sides will be a freshly made Romaine salad topped with vine ripe tomatoes and homemade yeast rolls.

Ice cold longnecks and chilled wine are available at your pleasure.

Life is good in Gator Nation!

My wife will be cooking tonight. I think that the plan is clam linguini which is something I can make, but I had a late in the day dentist appointment.

My wife is using leftover pulled pork to make enchiladas tonight so I have the evening off. She is the expert with this dish.

Except I will be making the margaritas.
