The defensive line should be running laps this week if ESPN stats are right. Our defensive line had 0 quarterback hurries against Tennessee. That’s pitiful. The only QB hurry listed was Miller at LB for 2.

There are a lot of guys not winning one on one battles. We have 2 five star players with experience on this line that should be able to win one on one battles.

Tennessee did a great job of handling Dexter and Cox. The one guy that played well in limited action was McClellan

Wasn't Gervon being doubled all afternoon?

So you're going to punish them for not being good? How good did you think before the season they would be? We knew this was an issue coming in.

Flushing the QB from the pocket doesn't count as a hurry?!?

They won't get that nasty pass-rush power until the do pushing sleds as a daily regimen at practice. It's all about the LEGS AND THE LOWER BODY POWER.

Actually the defensive line was supposed to be a strength with Cox and Dexter. 0 QB hurries is pretty hard to be ok with. Some were predicting Dexter and Cox as all SEC candidates. They were 5 star recruits.

Is it possible that our DC wanted a controlled rush to keep hooker in the pocket and minimize creases in the middle for him to run through? If that was his strategy it didn't work all game long. The middle was wide open with our lbs chasing TEs whenever ut wanted to open up the middle.

Actually, the defensive line wasn't expected to be a strength due to inexperience and a lack of depth.

We still have ends playing tackle? Other than Dez or Mc?

When the QB is flushed out of the pocket the DB Backs need to do one of two things (or both). Go after the OB or keep covering the receivers/passing lanes.
All eleven defenders need to be doing their job.

No excuses for the DLine they got handled. Will it be the last time this season? I think there are at least 3 more games they get handled. Does not mean we cannot win, just means there are O LINES ion the schedule that potentially will dominate us.

I understand the depth issues on the d-line and don’t expect them to hold up all game. But it seems like the starting front 4, even when they are fresh, are having an incredibly tough time getting any pressure.

The only team they’ve had success against is a very weak Kentucky o-line.

Some guys aren’t living up to their billing, but on paper, they should be getting at least some pressure with the likes of Dexter, Cox, Princely, Boone, Watson and Sapp rushing the QB.

Dexter has disappeared. I know he sometimes gets double teamed. But he’s not beating his one-on-ones either.

The only time we have had a D line in years was when we got Greenard from the portal. Strong against run and pass. We’ve been recruiting looking for mythical players for a make believe system. ;) Just need Wilbur every year..

Almost like playing linebacker or DT for years before college actually matters. Who would have thunk it.

If your QB is Brady or Trask, probably. If it's Hooker or AR, not so much.
