Head to head is a big factor as is wins. Then beyond that looking at whether they were home or away or neutral. Also, embarassing losses figure big into post season matchups. CFP really does not want lopsided affairs. That hurts Georgia alot, not to mention how late in the year the l opp sided loss to LSU was. I am shocked how highly Georgia is ranked based on all the factors.

Politics played a huge reason for us in Orange vs Sugar.
UGA opens next year against UVA. No way that wasn't discussed in decision making. That coming off loss, Baylor peeps could not be more thrilled to be where they are. Fans will show up in New Orleans. Imagine UGA vs UVA match up in either Miami or New Orleans. Tickets would be given away.

Also, UF is the easy pick for Orange to fill the stands and get a sellout, enough Gator fans in SFla to sell it out, hotels probably not as happy, but how many UGA fans are going to shell out for trip to S Fla after getting shellacked in SECCG and hoping to be in playoff?

Both UF and the Orange Bowl win.

And just for those complaining for something better, they need to remember we are still in a rebuilding mode for at least one more year under Mullen.

Getting this game, despite opponent, is huge for us to continue building because of the recruiting exposure and locale.

No doubt, UVA will be coming into this game wanting to upset us, but we're "The Mighty Gators", so who isnt thinking that?

Even better as if I work that day I may only miss the first few mins instead of most of the 1st quarter!

Big step might Be an understatement as 11 wins will be all that is remembered. Make no mistake about it, this will be their Super Bowl and the Pundits have already focused on ACC versus SEC.
