(VB) Ongoing Volleyball Thread 2025

So no beach volleyball team in the near future?

 

Played the number one team in Italy. These Italians are pros. They have a 23 year old player that controlled the match. When she is out we actually have a chance to win against seasoned pros. We did win one set and improved every set.
I wanted to see how we did when confronted by a dominating and powerful team. We held our own and IMO this bodes well for the season.
Remember we are playing Kira who has a ceiling that is incredible and she is not even swinging yet. She has to serve with her left hand. You guys are going to love her this year when she is herself again.
I will say it again. We got beat by superior athletes. We will play nobody this season that is this good in America.
Another reason I enjoyed this match is our coaching staff called time outs and talked to the players explaining how to handle adversity and we got to hear what they said. We have a good staff. Ryan, Abby, Walt, Eysha, and Keith know what they are doing.
The future is bright.

 

September will be 2 years since Kira was able to swing. How certain are you that she will be ready for the 2025 season?

Talented is an understatement. UF looked like a national champion until Kira went out against Stanford and Alexis Stuckey went out against Wisconsin.

 

I have talked with the coach, the doctor, and Kira herself. All have told me she will be swinging in the fall. How’s that?
I have never seen any player like her. She has a sixth sense when it comes to the game. She makes kill shots without even swinging. You turn to the people you are sitting with and say, “did you see that?”

Milica Vidacic is a 6'2" OH (Opposite) freshman who is a member of the Serbian National Team.

 

says 6'4" in bio..

What someone on VT said about new signee Milica "That is a BIG get. I’m unsure of what to make of her and Byrd both being there because apparently Byrd looked great so far but this is a potential SEC FOY contender. A few years ago I had her on my radar to be a Boskovic replacement. Since then she’s kind of leveled out but she’s got a great serve and arm! Needs to work on her vertical and range but this is big!"
