And six of our 17 are pitchers. When Ava is pitching (who otherwise can play first), that only leaves 11 players available for 8 positions out in the field. We’ve mentioned it before, but seeing the roster size around the SEC really highlights how slim we seem to be. Hoping for good health throughout the year.

I’m hoping we get a couple reclassifications that we redshirt. Being on the team during the season will provide more valuable experience than the last semester of high school.

Pure speculation of Ariel’s thoughts. Just because that’s what makes sense to you, doesn’t make it true.

Thankfully fall games kick off soon and we will have more to go off of.

The last thing I want. Hasn’t worked out for any of our players in recent years. Let them finish up their high school and travel ball careers.

From what I understand from people who followed her in hgih school and travel she is better suited for 3b because she does not have as much lateral range. I could see her doing better at 2b than ss. I don't see her moving from 3b though unless one of these transfers do and allow her to move to 2b. Could always be wrong but I personally belive Gabi will be our ss.

I think Grover will be at 3rd, Comia at SS, Cahalan at 2nd and Walker at 1st.

The last three early enrollees have not worked out. I believe the toughest part of the early enrollment is adjusting to the academics at the University of Florida. I can tell you my own experience, my roughest Quarter in 1967 as a freshman was my first quarter. I went from being graduating sixth in my high school class to an English class that had everyone in there who had graduated sixth or higher from their high school class. The competition was really high and something I had to adjust to. In the end, I did very well in engineering. I made the Dean’s list seven times. I think the toughest thing for any freshman is the academics and adjusting to the time management that it requires to be a softball player.

She does, but we have to have both Walker & Grover in the lineup and playing defense, IMO. Grover is purely a third baseman who only made 9 errors in 3 seasons at Eastern Illinois, none last year. Walker has played both 1st and 3rd. It makes more sense to keep Grover at 3rd, Walker at 1st. We'll see how it works out

The biggest thing is how Grover adjusts to SEC life though.

I think Brown will DH when not pitching. If Walker goes into a slump, Ava can play 1st, although Reagan Walsh beat her out last year for the job.

Sounds like in ‘67 they still had the Comprehensive “C” courses graded on the bell curve which had 10% A’s and F’s and I believe 20% B’s and D’s and 40% c’s. This system was designed to wash out as many students as possible. They even told us at orientation (Sept. 1960) to look to our left and right as one of three would not be in school the next year. Unfortunately, I was the one.

The way Willum stated it, I could accept.
Redshirt this year, observe the team and concentrate on academics and be ready to go in 26-27.
But, expect them to play February, heck no.

Let’s do it! After all we need 4 or 5 more position players just to play practice games unless we use pitchers and managers.

Will miss Reagen so much. Ava is good at first no doubt. As long as it wouldnt take away from her pitching i could see her getting time there again.

So, Im not up on the roster, but only 17 does that include a couple of pinch runners or do we have a couple of fast pitchers, tho usually they dont pinch run.
