Softball America just came out with their rankings.
1. Ark (6-6)
2. A&M (4-5)
3. FSU (1-2)
4. Okl (8-4)
5. Tenn (6-6)
6. TX (3-6)
7. Gators (6-7)
The number in parentheses represents the team's record against the other six teams in the top seven. Since we just won 2 out of 3 from Oklahoma, I think we deserved a higher ranking.

 

Keagan's dad is a piece of work. He calls better third strikes than the umps.

Home runs she robs could be added to her HR totals, game changing plays. She should get a bonus also for in the park homers!

 

Fortunately this isn’t basketball, although I’d love for these ladies to finish like our boys did! Maybe with a little less nail biting and heart attack inducing stress perhaps. A lot of important softball is still left to be played across the country. Speaking of anything ranking wise in terms of absolutes is silly.

 

Auburns

Auburn had the number 2 SOS and more Quad 1 wins. It was a big enough SOS difference with similarities elsewhere. That's why OU won't be no. 1 unless they go on a run. As long as A&M and UF don't go 1 and done while OU doesn't.

 

That's a weird set of rankings. I would think Tenessee should for sure be further down.

 

Agreed. When I was coaching baseball I often tracked on base by error, adding it to OBP. Of course I like small ball and kids with speed.

 

I don’t ever remember caring about softball Americas opinions, maybe there’s a reason they post theirs the day before the rankings everyone pays attention to come out? I feel we’ve got a top 8 locked down which is the most important thing. I’m with you on two things @alysb21, nothing is settled just yet and I don’t really want that number one seed either lol!

 

I think OU deserves the #1 seed if they win a couple of games in the tourney, but if they get bounced in game 1 and either the Aggies or Texas win the thing, then no. It's not like they dominated the conference, losing 3 series and won the conference regular season by only a half game. Of course as the defending champs, they probably win any tiebreakers. JMO.

 

I have to confess. I don't think I've ever been more wrong on a player than I was with Kendra. I only saw her play a few innings of travel before she got to UF. "Uh...just a skinny slapper....she'll never contribute anything." She should find me and slap me across the head.

Right and then some. Crazy that a kid who only hits doubles is only two homers shy of tying Brittany Schuttes freshman HR record.

 

Who got Player.... Walsh for sure should have.

 

Ya know....we went 5-4 against A&M, Texas and Oklahoma. We threw a game away at A&M and absolutely should have swept Oklahoma. That would make it 7-2 against those three.

 

Actually, losing the tie breaker to Arky is fine with me. Assuming we both win our first games, I'd rather face Texas and Kevan than Arky having to play Pickens and Tennessee.

 

Maybe we will finally make an adjustment against Kavan. I do wanna see us against Pickens kinda. I was jsut looking through numbers and we are really really disciplined.

While I loved Schutte - she played with the HR Bats that are now outlawed. I believe Taylor also has more RBI's and Doubles than Brittany S did along with a better BA against much better fielding and pitching. Only Mandy Softball was a better Freshman and not by much!
