Karlie Keeney pitched there for three years before transferring to Oklahoma.

Fall Ball, is there anyone planning to attend? Will there be game threads so we can get a feel on how the positions are being filled and how the pitchers are progressing? In the past, the last three years, Ms. Thomas (Bryn’s mom) would have a video feed and give a game score and the progress of the game.

That’s quite a gap in the Fall Schedule. Hoping it might portend a matchup with FSU.

Gators are not playing FSU in Fall Ball. The schedule coincides with football being on the road to boost attendance and avoid high hotel costs and long restaurant lines.

Would be nice if someone here that is going to the games would stream them for us. It isn't hard. A phone. A portable charger. A Facebook page. Presto. Everyone can see the fall games live.

Oh well, if it logistically doesn’t work out, nothing we can do. Always nice to play some top competition to know where you stand, or how much work lies ahead.

I'm assuming Bryn's mother isn't going to do it again. She actually did a pretty good job for the Fall games and for February regular season games that weren't televised. She didn't do the February games last season. Another girl, Nicole Bartlett, did the Fall games on a different board last season and she did a pretty good job also. In fact, someone that wanted to do it wouldn't have to actually stream the games. They could record them and post them to the cloud with a link to us so we could watch them after the games were over.

Kent Jenkins from the Facebook Florida Gators Softball Fans page may video stream the October games. He is looking into doing it.

Broadcast rights now in SEC contracts give exclusive use to companies like ESPN for all content, even if they choose not to broadcast the game you wish to view. You can record for personal use but not share for others benefit on a forum such as this.

Do broadcast rights apply to exhibition/practice games? Admission is free right?

Bryn Thomas' mother did many games over several years streamed on Facebook and nothing happened to her. Nicole Bartlett did all of the Fall games last year and the only thing that happened to her was she kept getting pinged by some music company because of copyright for the music that was played by the stadium in background, which was completely absurd. It didn't stop her streaming on Facebook and nothing else happened to her. I believe the contracts relate to broadcasts conducted by the school, which is why we don't put games on Youtube that aren't televised, but the contracts have nothing to do with personal recording.

They don’t have anything to do with personal recording, but they do have to do with broadcasting, which is what you’re talking about. People get away with pirating stuff all the time, but that doesn’t necessarily mean its legal.

I was unaware there is a copyright on a fall softball exhibition game. Can you direct me to one?

Nope, but you’re free to email ESPN about it if you’re so inclined. They may not own the rights to the exhibition games. Either way, recording for personal use and broadcasting the games for others to watch are two very different things. I don’t really care if you pirate the games or not, but just because someone else did it doesn’t mean it’s legal. I got away with using napster, kazaa, kodi, etc, but we all know that wasn’t legal either.
