We have 14 players on scholarship. That means that one player has to go bye-bye. Who would you choose to kiss goodbye? My choice is Nembhard. He doesn’t want to be here anyway. He is at the end of his college career. He might play the same ball control type of game that I disliked so much last season. How about the rest of you.

I count 13, including Nembhard and Mann.

If Duke has a similar problem the NCAA will relax the numbers.

No, I didn't, since he would still have to apply for a transfer waiver with the NCAA backing off of one-time waivers for next season.

He still counts as one of the 13 scholarships even if he has to sit out a year.

This is a tough one. I think Nembhard is a fantastic player and terribly under appreciated. That said, if he stays.... I think we lose Glover, a player whose upside I really like.
I am also comfortable with the pg spot of appleby and Glover, whereas I think we do need Mann at the two.
I guess I would very, very, very reluctantly keep Mann, but only for reasons related to personnel, and future impact.

AN was clutch at times and indispensable....but so frustrating too. I liked AN a lot in our comeback wins....but I “hated” his style that might have been the reason we needed a frenetic comeback(s). (He had it in him to “play like cheese” when we desperately needed it....why he didn’t, from the start, is a mystery to me).

I’d like to judge CMW This coming season without AN to showcase, what I believe To be his favored - more up-tempo - style. AN should move on....

but, AN vs Tre Mann? I’d say AN is much much more proven at this stage. I think Tre’s foot is out the door - (or is it?), so I would bid him adieu.

Surely I'm missing something but what is the purpose of the scholarship limit? Competitive balance? Balance school/basketball budget? I wonder if the power 5 schools couldn't manage increasing this number. If Florida wants to swing 15 players on scholarship, I don't see why I'd care.

Perfectly stated. He doesn't want to be here. He needs to stop holding that scholarship hostage. I hope White is trying to mend fences with Mann. We are fine at PG w/ Appleby and Glover. Mann can provide minutes at PG and SG.

Mann reminds me of Ballard in that he seems to never have seen a shot that he doesn't want to take. However, unlike Ballard, I think that Mann might be a ticking time bomb on the verge of exploding in a good way.

Nembhard has his faults but he also lead the SEC in assist to turnover ratio (by a fairly large margin), was second overall in assists. He also averaged over 11 points a game To say you would keep a Ques Glover, who had possibly the worst assist to turnover ratio of any point guard in college basketball last season (19 assists to 40 TO’s), over Andrew Nembhard is ridiculous, IMO.

Castleton can be a preferred walk-on and get Bright Futures this year, if needed.

Or we can get creative and claim one of these guys plays baseball and that he gets to come back and not count for next year. Sure ... that ought to do it!
Now coming out of the bullpen to start the 9th...........Jason Jitoboh.
I bet Tyree Appleby or Ques Glover would make a great shortstop.

The only thing about that is 2 seasons ago it seemed like Coach White took the air out of the sails of the team when they were thriving playing an up-tempo style. I'm not sure Coach White prefers playing up-tempo currently.

My memory is different. I would catch him signaling to speed it up. Yes, I think there was times he said to slow it down, too. To me it seemed the team forced fast pace at the wrong times and missed The fast break Opportunities presented to them at other times. That’s my take.

AN is so hard to assess IMO. It reminds me of when we had Walsh and Roberson - two players that were awesome and a blast to watch, but to me, something was "off" about them on the court.

I was ok when they moved on.

I feel the same about AN. He does a lot of great things on the court, but things are at times clunky and awkward with him on the court, too. I am ok with him moving on at this point.
