Apologies if I misunderstood, but if you read your post a period makes no sense grammatically and the blank means what exactly?

Did you mean to say she has become A political animal? Or THE political animal?
    And again, why the blank?

^ Votes for a guy who adds multiple trillions to the debt, in the form of deficit-funded tax cuts for corporations and the rich. Twice.

    Blames Congress. :)

If I’m not mistaken, the debt has increased a $T under every president since Reagan’s second term, with the exception of Clinton’s second term. That’s pretty much a sweep. But let’s go back to high school civics. Congress sets and authorizes spending levels. There is no line item veto, so any president can only veto or approve what congress sends them. To infer this as a Trump phenomenon is ridiculous, even for you Jo.

We have had four years out of the last 45 where we have had some level of fiscal responsibility(thank you Clinton and Gingrich). All others were train wrecks.

I do not like Trump’s authorizations of spending. I have been critical of that. I don’t particularly care for this bill because it does not create a surplus. I am also realistic that we will not get anything better out of this(or any recent) congress WRT to surplus/debt reduction. As was stated in other threads/posts, our elections are binary. It’s all of one or all of the other. Every election that I have voted in going back to 1980 has been a choice of the lesser of two evils. Trump was a significantly lesser evil than the cackler.

So here we are once again Jo where you are wrong on your facts(Congress holds the power of the purse WRT to spending and taxes). Trump is not the first or only president to run deficits(just check out Biden’s numbers), and the equally, if not more ignorant statement that the tax cuts were only for the rich and corporations.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Led Zeppelin. Who knew they were referring to your future posts back in the 70’s when they released The Song Remains the Same?

No it doesn't. This isn't an appropriations bill, this just cuts taxes with promises of cuts later on to make the math work. The same shit was pulled in 2017 and before in 2010 with Obamacare.

What exactly is too high? What are you willing to cut?

LOL, you should learn about the budgetary process before you further comment on things you know nothing about.

    Here - I'll help!!

The executive budget process consists of three main phases: development of the President's budget proposal, submission and justification of the President's budget proposal, and execution of enacted annual appropriations and other budgetary legislation. Congress may become involved in any of these phases.

Fool in the Rain (many on Too Woke)
The Rain Song (what the "Fool in the Rain" posts on Too Woke)
How Many More Times (what normal folks wonder when the "Fool in the Rain" continually posts "The Rain Song")
Dazed and Confused (normal state of existence for the "Fool in the Rain")
Trampled Under Foot (the losing political party in the US)
Over the Hills and Far Away (extremist dogmas in the US)
Immigrant Song (leftists support of open borders)
Going to California (new US Marine song)
Communication Breakdown (a regular occurrence in a Too Woke discussion)
When the Levee Breaks (what happened to the democrats in November 2024)
Babe I’m Gonna Leave You (minorities to the democrats in 2024)
Baby Come On Home (democrats to minorities in 2025)
Your Time Is Gonna Come (what the political party out of power likes to hear)
Celebration Day (the Wednesday following the first Monday in November every 4 years)
We’re Gonna Groove (what the folks celebrating on "Celebration Day" start saying)
Good Times Bad Times (how you feel on January 20th or 21st following "Celebration Day" depending on how you felt on "Celebration Day")
Hey, Hey, What Can I Do (what independents say after every election)
Nobody’s Fault but Mine (What is NEVER said by anybody, especially by politicians and folks active on Too Woke)

Oh Jo, Jo, Jo. You’re like the little brother who tries so hard hit his big brother but can’t land a punch because big brother has a stiff arm on little bro’s forehead. So little bro just flails away hopelessly, crying as big brother laughs.

That may be your weakest response yet. You do realize that you are only referring to the president’s proposal, don’t you? Proposal as in initial request, right? Initial Request as in asking for something that you would like Congress to do, right? Congress as in the the collective body that actually has the authority to tax and spend, right?

Please cite for us, oh brilliant one, an example where a president just decreed that his budget request would just automatically be executed as law?

You should read what you post. It's funny. Funny how upset you get. :) At least it motivates you to develop truly insightful similes. :):)

Seriously though, if you think that Congress is responsible for all spending and the President has no role in it .... you need to be off reading, not posting on a message board. In particular, we can look at the bill which is the topic of this thread, and know that the $3 trillion addition to the national debt is because of Trump's insistence on tax cuts.

Sorry if that doesn't fit your narrative of your Great Hero doing Great things .... with everyone else being at fault, but that's the reality.

Also, why do you address me? You do this repeatedly. I don't care for it. I've left you unblocked for the laughs, but I never address you. I don't care about you. If you feel so strongly that you try to bring me into your life somehow ... maybe you need to address that internally. (after you learn more about federal spending and budgeting, that is. :))

Nothing wrong with cutting taxes as long as you reduce spending at the same time. I like that Trump (and Musk) have worked hard to eliminate wasteful government spending which even Jo Jo has to admit has been a major problem for years but this bill basically erases any of those gains by continuing to add trillions of debt.

It's funny to see people like you repeat their fiction.

Meanwhile, they're adding $3 trillion to the debt in tax cuts (largely for the rich and corporations.)

    MONEYWATCH
DOGE says it has saved $160 billion. Those cuts have cost taxpayers $135 billion, one analysis says.
Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, says it has saved $160 billion through its push to root out wasteful or fraudulent government spending. But that effort may also have come at a cost for taxpayers, with a new estimate from a nonpartisan research and advocacy group estimating that DOGE's actions will cost $135 billion this fiscal year.

The analysis seeks to tally the costs associated with putting tens of thousands of federal employees on paid leave, re-hiring mistakenly fired workers and lost productivity, according to the Partnership for Public Service (PSP), a nonpartisan nonprofit that focuses on the federal workforce.

PSP's estimate is based on the $270 billion in annual compensation costs for the federal workforce, calculating the impact of DOGE's actions, from paid leave to productivity hits. The $135 billion cost to taxpayers doesn't include the expense of defending multiple lawsuits challenging DOGE's actions, nor the impact of estimated lost tax collections due to staff cuts at the IRS.

DOGE claims to have eliminated about 2.5% from the federal budget. This is almost certainly inaccurate and an overstatement.

    Very impressive indeed. :)
