Wade won't talk to LSU until the fed probe is over according to ESPN.
A post on another site said that he was advised by his lawyers not to speak with LSU, much like you're saying here.
Must be that his lawyers realize that anything Wade would/could say to the school would only solidify the school's ability to terminate him with cause?
That's what the article said. I was too lazy to link it. He's done at this point. Will be interesting to see where the talent scatters off to in the off-season.
I saw on the ESPN ticker today that families made $25 MILLION from offers from college from 2011-2019 or something like that.
Did Pearl not get busted by the FBI? Why is he still coaching?
Why Auburn's Bruce Pearl, once on the hot seat due to an FBI investigation, got a contract extension
Most employers have policies or standards of conduct requiring participation in internal investigations, including a requirement to be forthright and truthful in responses
So if Wade gets fired with cause that would open the doors to their players possibly transferring and possibly getting an exemption from the NCAA without having to sit out a year. Now the big question, I wonder where PF Emmitt Williams (originally from Orlando Oak Ridge) might want to go if he jumps at the chance? Yes the Emmitt Williams that did the Gator chomp at the O'Dome when they stole one from us.
My thought on LSU going forward, I find that teams that lose their Will usually don't play Smart. Hhhhmmmm.....
Nah... we have Keyontae!
My guess after next year Keyontae will be moving to the 3 spot and play much like Admiral Schofield. Emmett Williams could play the PF spot for 3 more years if he came here.
Williams might be coming off the bench if he came to UF. If UF brings in Hall at PF in 2020, his skill set would work perfectly alongside Payne and would give UF a nice frontcourt of Hall, KJ and Payne.
I really like Williams, think he's a good player, but think he might be coming off the bench here for a few years (definitely would next year). Not sure we'd put a group on the floor that's undersized and can't shoot or handle the ball (Payne and Williams) in 2020. Williams has made 1 three this year and has just 11 assists. If he added those, then it would be something different. But if he's fine with coming off the bench, I'd love to have him. Especially if Stone couldn't come back healthy.
This guy man.....
LSU's Wade says he should be allowed to coach
So Jay Bilas says that this kind of stuff has been going on for a long time.
Remind me. Where did he play college ball?
Its a funny thing with me and my feelings for Bilas. I actually think he is one of the best basketball announcers around, and I agree with his points most of the time. But there is usually a "well you would know I guess" thought process in the back of my mind fighting against my agreements with him. HAHAHAHA
More likely, anything that he says to LSU could be used by the Feds in a potential case against him. Considering they have subpoena power and the NCAA doesn't, that is more likely the crux of concern.
I imagine us sticking with small ball for the foreseeable future. With Stone's injury and the arrival of Lewis, I don't see Johnson moving to the wing. And in some sense he is a much better fit at the four: he has enough strength, length, and hops to match up with most collegiate fours, but his shooting spaces the floor, and he is far quicker than most fours on the cuts and in transition.
This is what I love: Pearl lies directly to the NCAA, fails to report other noted violations, and gets fired from Tennessee for breaching terms of his contract, then somehow "innocently" employs an assistant found guilty of federal crimes, but he comes through unscathed and complains about being misunderstood. Sigh.
