Hopefully they win and Tennessee loses and the SEC title will be vacated.

Of course they suspend him after our game. Another reason to hate Alleva.

And how many scandals is Alleva going to be allowed to preside over?

CMW needs to take advantage of this next year. The league is losing so much talent and throw in the players that will probably leave LSU now. We'll be in the top 2-3 talent wise in the league.

Can't remember the last time the league lost so many talented kids.

UK-with Reid, Washington, Herro and Johnson
    UT-Schoefield and probably Williams
    USC-Silva
    Arky-Gafford
LSU-Bigby-Williams, probably Smart, Waters and Reid
    MSU-Weatherspoon and Holman
Auburn-Spencer, Brown, Dunbar and possibly Okeke and Wiley
    Vandy-possibly Shittu and Nesmith

A lot of big time players graduating and possibly going pro early. Plus, outside out UK and UF, nobody in the league is bringing in a top 10 class. UGA and Bama are bringing in top 20 classes.

Did he come from VCU with any sort of rep? I don't remember hearing about a shady rep when he took the LSU gig. Hell, he was never even an assistant coach at a power 5 school, much less a blublood program. So where did he make his bones as a procurer of players?

LSU had little choice in any reasonable view; they're in full-bore damage control mode at the moment. Of course, Bruce Pearl openly defied his own administration at Auburn and got no punishment for it.

I didn’t hear much about him at VCU. But he wasnt at LSU more than a couple months before there was a ton of buzz and the ncaa began peeking into his recruiting.
I’m guessing he was pretty overt in his cheating, as evidenced by the phone call.... and word spread around the game and to the ncaa.

If you want to see the most pitiful humans in American sports, go to tiger droppings. The line of comments:
    - “in America you are innocent until proven guilty.“ umm, that is criminal law not an ncaa violation.
    - “Alleva wimped out.” By being an adult (for once)?
    - “What about Bama cheating?” Guess I missed nick on tape.
    - “The tape is ambiguous.” Umm, offered, family benefits, pie? Yes, the amount is ambiguous but that consideration was made is not.
    - “So what, still a title.” Seriously? If you win cheating is ok?

I honestly hope these people don’t procreate.

Heard they're sitting Smart too. Would be interesting to see us play them in the SEC tourney if they didn't have Wade or Smart.

The loss of Smart could be offset by the loss of Wade.

Upper level college basketball is a manure pit now. The cheating (i.e. buying/renting players) is rampant and wide spread. It’s just another sport I’ve sadly dropped.

I will never understand the "like him or not" part of this. At the risk of poking a sleeping bear, it is justified to make sure people understand that the best run of athletics at Florida was under the umbrella of Jeremy Foley. It wasn't even close. And I don't mean the "we were good at all sports argument" which we were. We were number 1 in every sport at some point during Foley's tenure, all of our NCs in football, an 3 in basketball including a fairly unheard of 2 in a row in basketball. I am leaving out the swimming, soccer, gymnastics, track and all that good stuff but we kicked ass in all of that under him. Because he didn't bat 1000, am I supposed to not like what he did for us at UF?

Honestly, anti-JF comments (and your's wasn't but it did leave it open) make me want to puke. The guy objectively could not have done much better. He took some chances witch coaches and made a couple contract mistakes and didn't maintain the facilities but the latter wasn't all on him but him and nobody else reigned over the greatest history of Gator Sports.

This is a tired argument and people that argue against it are usually under 25, maybe 30 now and weren't there when we were winning everything all the time. Please don't forget that he managed to keep Spurrier for a very long time, he hired Billy Donavan, Lon Kruger before him and all of the coaches in baseball, and the rest where we won championships in soccer, swimming, tennis and others. Ugh.

You're correct in that I didn't mean it as an anti-Foley post. He did a great job with a few glaring mistakes.

What I can't believe is that the LSU fans LOUDLY booed and chanted at Alleva before the game when he came in.

WATCH: LSU fans boo AD Joe Alleva

I understand them being angry that this will tarnish the best season in the history of the program, but be mad at Smart for his stupid actions, not Alleva.
