MW deserves a lot of credit for recruiting, signing and developing Omar. He had no offers from blue chips. MW has a great eye for talent.

Uh he was a top 50 national kid, not some unknown project. That said was the lowest ranked yet the most important kid we signed in 19 class.

That's what I remember but also that his ranking was primarily because of his defensive prowess. This team has a lot more promise now that he's found his game.

True, but it is also true that he had no offers from blue bloods. I bet they would all have a spot for him now.

He had a great game but I wouldn’t hold my breath that he comes close to getting 19 points in another game this season. There were quite a few of his baskets that even surprised him that they went in. He has a lot of potential but let’s not get too carried away over one game that everything went his way.

Do you mean the fall signing period? Because he was higher ranked than our 2 spring signings (Jitoboh and Glover).

Really like the low post defense with he and Blackshear in at the same time. That's our best combo on the floor right now.

He’s starting to play with more confidence. I like the fact that Omar plays like a big man too

He had a good offer list though. I know it included Louisville, osu, LSU and several others. And he did have some blue on that list... Florida;)

My take on Omar’s improvement, is being ready to receive passes down low and being able to catch lightning quick passes up close. This improvement was very evident last night. He has always rebounded and put back some shots, but he is getting a feel of staying down low and the things that will happen when you are there. As he gets stronger and gains some weight in the next couple of years, he will get noticed by all media, coaches and players. Last night Pearl mentioned him by name in his thoughts on the game, I know Pearl will try to scheme against him now, fool me once.....

They are playing together. Blackshear misses an easy shot and Payne tips it in.

Yup. And Lewis and Mann are eventually going to be great players for the Gators. I just think that they were rated so highly that everyone thought they'd be Jordan and Pippen from day 1. If they were 4 star recruits, it probably would have been better for them and the team. Now, they have to worry about being called busts, or people in their circle telling them they should have gone to UK or another school. They need a year or two and they will be much better after they address the holes in their games.
