MVG: Egor Koulechov had 11 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and no turnovers for 96 Value Credits but it wasn't enough as Gators lost on the road to the Ole Miss Rebels, 78-72. Keith Stone played a full 35 minutes and produced with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 turnovers for 91 Value Credits. Chris Chiozza rounds out top three with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals for a Value Score of 62.

Team Stats: Mississippi outrebounded the Gators 44-35 and shot a little better from the field and freethrow line for the upset win. Ole Miss had a 17-11 Assist to Turnover ratio which was a little better than the Gators 14-10. Cummulatively these wins on the stat sheet were reflected in the final score.

Although it doesn’t hurt to look at these stats, they are misleading. For example, my favorite player made about 25 great passes that led to a meager 4 assists because of the lousy play of the recipients of those passes.

To be fair, you question systemic stats and then claim 25 great passes. I'm sure your favorite player has achieved the highest value score in several games this year. Today was not his best game, anyway.

He played pretty darn well today and was tremendous down the stretch. He didn’t shoot well, but his defense, ballhandling and passing were exceptional.

You could have made similar comments regarding KA in the prior game. Great pass, no finish or foul, no stat. Such is the life of a pg.
Similarly Hayes and company do a lot of work on the inside that doesn't show up in stats and actually helps the guards get rebounds.

11 points on 15 shots does not excite me.

No but 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and no turnovers were the primary stats that earned him MVG.

Except some of those out of control shots are the same as TOs.
