People see 3 stars and fear we are just adding unathletic lunkheads whose size numbers look good in the program but can’t move or play. Nothing could be further from the truth. Mascoll, for example, moves really well and his strength is pass blocking at this stage. The knock on his game is that he presently lacks the strength to be a pancake, run dominator. If there’s one thing I’m not worried about is our ability to beef up a young lineman. The Russo-German is an elite, underexposed athlete as people will learn, etc.

I’d like to see Westphal in the class and maybe Hylton but really like what coaches have done so far with their scouting army. I’m interested if a committed player from Germany will attract enough attention to earn star number 4 but the path may be easier for Big Mike Williams

I think it was Bates that said when a big guy joined the team he looked at their ankles. Skinny ankles = athletic and he'd get fired up because he knew they could go. I always think about that, but alas, few scouting reports have ankle circumference.

I think it’s absolutely true too. Skinny ankles, calves developed “up high” . Anecdotal evidence on my part for sure, but it’s almost always spot on. Weird.
Maybe 96Gatorcise has some science knowledge on this

I’d use my skinny ankles to run fast enough that big Dez cannot get his hands on me.

That was what Rattler was thinking before Dez grabbed him up and snatched the ball away!
