OL recruiting is an embarrassment, and will really limit our O going forward. Stable of 4 and 5* RBs running behind a 3* line. Awesome QB room gonna be running for their lives.

    Genius. What could go wrong?

FSU big ugly recruiting is much superior to UF thus far this cycle. I agree that our OL recruiting has been disappointing under Hevesy. Not only poor star ranking, but many non-qualifiers during that time period. One immigration issue and two others for grades that I recall, and then one transfer to Miami before playing a down, and one transfer to Cuse/Rutgers???? due to Hev’s coaching style and yelling.

you may or may not agree with me but the other issue with Hev recruiting isn’t that he misses on high end kids, it’s also the questionable takes that he settles on as well as almost settled on.

the kids who were pushed out for whatever reason were guys who should have NEVERRRRR been takes for UF in the FIRST PLACE:

Jovens Janvier, Miami Christian School, Offensive Guard

    George Jackson, Stephenson, Offensive Tackle

Adrein Strickland, A. Crawford Mosley, Offensive Tackle

Then takes that shouldn’t have happened in the first place:

    Griffin McDowell, Florida, Offensive Line

And im not too thrilled with Jake Slaughter from last cycle but I can live with it.

Not even going to commit on what’s going to end up being our OL class for this cycle

Wait you mean Hev wasn’t a rock star at MSU ;)

Older lazy people don’t usually find a work ethic, hypothetically, of course

We had good OL recruits the first time Hev was here, what was Urban doing that Mullen isn't?

Two Pouncey brothers there. You would think we would try to get every OL to come to FNL while they visit

I’m sure we tried but a lot of guys don’t care that much about UF, unlike most everyone on this board. Or the Pouncey bros for FTM. And a lot just care about the $$$$$$.

and let’s be frank: the recruiting skills of the head guy are generally as or more important than the position coach. Mullen is not a strong recruiter. At all. The issue here is that I want Mullen to succeed because he is a good coach on the field. So I want him to hire guys who are better recruiters than he is. He has not been doing that across the board—which is not to say that we don’t have a few performers.

Look at the best teams over the past few years and you'll consistently see stellar OL and DL play - Bama, OSU, Clemson, OU, etc.

We've been solid if not spectacular on DL, although we got pushed around last year. The fact that Delance will start for us again this fall is all you need to know about our OL and Hevesy's recruiting. He'd be third string at best for any of the above programs.

Mullen has to do something about this or we're going to average 9 wins / season during his tenure with no championships, SEC or otherwise.
