Any one know the status of Noah Banks?
They were great players but that was not a good situation nor a good year for the offense
#3 here...GatorsTerritory - SEC Media Day Florida Storylines
Coach Mullen took a good step to keep improving our OL with a new hire.....
Greg Frey, former OL coach, most recently from FSWho, then Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia and South Florida.
Hired on board on an off-field position,as an analyst.
Nice hire, to keep on rimproving our OL
The one different dynamic we have with this coaching staff, is Savage. In the past, we not only had to get guys scheme ready, but had to overcome having guys that really weren't physically ready to play big boy football.
We'll have plenty of guys physically ready, just need to get them reps.
My hunch ATM is it will be a little like last year where we play around it a tad to begin the season and the unit gels and becomes a great unit by the end of the season
With Savage's conditioning, along with Hevesy's coaching and Mullen's guidance, the O-Line, as young and inexperienced as they may be, might have a couple hiccups in the beginning, BUT....
They're going to be a damn good front line.
All we have to do is roll through the Canes, and the O-Line will have that first game jitters out of the way...the next game, against Tn-Martin, will be a major boost in additional play time.
Ethan White is going to be an absolute beast. He's going to surprise a lot of people.
I agree, but they never looked back- they were starters from then on. My point is that if a lineman with ability has to learn on the move he can do it.
Thanks for all the information everyone.
If it takes a while for the first unit to gel, it helps having a QB who's 6'6'' who can throw the hot reads without having difficulty seeing the receiver and getting it over the lineman.
Do you think the 9” height advantage he has over Martell will give us an advantage against Miami?.... lol
Absolutely, provided Feleipe isn't completely transfixed at seeing Martell lined up at DE.
We will face some really good defensive lines, Miami early then LSU, Auburn (maybe the best one), etc. The one comfort for me is that CDM is a very competent game planner that can adjust depending on how our OL performs. My big worry is injuries, we just can not afford many.
I agree about our advantage with Savage, and Mullen’s ability to adjust. But “roll(ing) through the Canes” will not be easy.
They have most of their front 7 on defense returning, and that is the heart of what will be a very good defense. I’m hoping that our defense can hold the Cane offense in check, so we won’t need to score 28 points (or more) to win.
If we don't score at least 40 on scUM I will have to revise my expectations on the season. Unless of course the cocanes win way more than the 7 or less I'm expecting them to win.
I have a feeling that our defense is going to be just fine....
As long as Franks and the offense can put points on the board, we'll take care of business against the canes
Game 1 with an entirely new OL against a decent defense isn't going to go off without some issues. Won't be shocked if it is more of a slow build to a relatively low score, but wide margin, victory. Kind of like '08.

Agree totally. I’ll take any kind of win. Hoping for 24-14.
Banks is huge. Hoping he’s ready to go. Info on him has been almost mum until now.
