Right. Is he capable of reading the writing on the wall? I think he would rather take his ball and go home then risk getting crushed in an election. It's just my thought.

Hmm.....I'm of the opinion he has a very strong following - especially in the flyover states. But also many can see he's trying hard to do the right thing, even though his personality and speaking skills are challenged at times.

I also feel if the economy continues to stay healthy - he'll get re-elected.

No matter how hard his opponents try - it's hard to go against an incumbent with a strong economy.

    We will see.....

If I have learned nothing else from following politics for the last 40 years, I have learned that guessing 18 months in advance is a good way to look foolish.

Agree. At this point in 2015, Jeb Bush was the favorite for the Republican nomination with Scott Walker also considered a real possibility. In the 2008 cycle the favorites were Hillary Clinton for Democratic nomination and Rudy Giuliani on the Republican side.

Why not? Trump is a business man and he'll replace anybody who he feels isn't cutting it.

I think Trump will win barring war or economy downturn. Still unsure if he will get my vote again though.

Democrat or Republican, I’ll vote for a gentleman (or lady) whose last name is Boogurz. Anyone with a campaign slogan of “Pick Boogurz” has President written all over him (or her).

Here's your man, I think Boogers is a fairly common last name in the Netherlands. You may have to move there to realize your dream. But the joke might be lost in translation.

You said Harris will be the next POTUS ? Is that your selection?

If I was betting today, with even odds, I'd take Harris against the field, yes.

But Trump would be 2nd. I could see him backing into it if he can learn to run a halfway decent campaign. (LOL at the thought.)
And if he switched Nikki Haley for Pence, his odds go up.

I couldn't bring myself to say who I do want. Nobody currently running.

Edit: it was a WSJ op-ed that mentioned swapping out Pence for Nikki Haley. So somebody is thinking about it, at least.

I honestly don't know who I'll vote for at this point.

If the Dems nominate the wrong candidate (and many in their field qualify as "wrong"), Trump will most likely win again.

I don't like some things about Harris, but I think she has a decent chance of winning the nomination and would be tough for Trump to campaign against using his usual style of middle school name calling. And I don't think he has enough self control to turn it off for more than a minute.

I don't see it that way, Dan.

Unless you go about bragging and making a big deal out of your prediction and putting other people down because of their predictions (I know that NEVER happens on a talk forum)....I don't see this as a big deal.

I look at it the same as in sports - when you make a prediction of how a particular team ends up for it's next season - usually based on the previous season plus what you've seen (thus far) in the off-season.

Also.....we're on the forum just for kicks. This isn't our job. Now if you are some 'famous' media personality - then you might be 'sticking your neck out' a bit.

Mostly it depends on the manner in which you make your prediction - or your 'guess'.

All that said, as I stated in the OP, I'm fine with anyone not willing to participate.

They don't have "Democrats" or "Republicans" in the Netherlands. My specifications were pretty clear. Marco Boogers will have to move here and choose.
