As Michael Scott would quip “that’s what she said!”
In limited time tonight AN had 9 points
We just won a game where we shot 23.5% from 3. Think about that!
Also...while game was being played news breaking that Grantham is staying.
The key was shooting 23-28 FTs
Hayes has quietly been very good at the free throw line the last few games.
Vandy might be the only team in the SEC where that outcome could have happened for us with all that stuff going wrong.
They were a VERY bad team. I know during the game it said most of their SEC losses were close, by <10 points. But they are 0-11 for a reason. Early in the game it looked like their players were coasting on D. But then they appeared to discover just how bad our offense was. "So you're telling us there's a chance!?". Fortunately we dominated the turnover battle which was needed to pull this one out. Little worried about our return trip. I mean a person might say we can't possibly have that much stuff go wrong...but that would be a person who hasn't actually watched this team play offense this year.
Agree Vandy was probably the only team in the SEC we could play this bad against and still win. On the way home I heard the CMW radio interview and thought it was very odd. He sounded almost whims-a-daisacle (sp?) and perplexed about the win. Obviously we all are glad to be done with this one but it was strange hearing it from Coach White. Makes me wonder what is going on with this team that we don't know.
To me it’s as if, in practice they hit shots and run the offense well, then in games they can’t or don’t do what they did in practice. Hence the exasperated befuddlement.
I'm glad enough people stepped up though. Stokes gave us a lift offensively, hopefully that'll carry over. Hudson looked noticeably more aggressive, and I even thought I saw a glimpse of last year's Hudson on one move. Okauru nailed a timely 3. KJ nearly had himself a double double. It just looks much worse when your best scorers go 2-19. That won't happen again.
