Agreed. I am saying that winning every play is an impossibility. AR does not grasp this. And if someone says that lack of understanding is coaching, I also agree. All of these badasses think they can win every play, because they always have.
I’d been one to give TG & EJ a long leash, but after today it’s time to start playing for the future as there’s no chance of any significant bowl. Start searching for a new DC / defensive staff and play AR15 every snap to get him better prepared for the next two seasons. I’d also opt to play younger players on the roster if they’re even close in performance to seniors ahead of them on the depth chart Based on my preseason expectations, this has been one of the more disappointing seasons in recent memory.
He was the defensive coordinator when we won at least one championship, and our defense has been absolutely exposed. Grantham should have been fired last year. This only confirms it.
I don’t blame AR one bit. That’s a big ask to take the offense down field on the biggest drive of your life. He will get better. His ceiling is higher than EJ.
The path to at least a 0.500 season isn’t guaranteed. Georgia, at South Carolina, at Missouri, FSU is improving. Thank goodness Samford is on schedule.
Strong for DC? Absolutely. Strong as a HC? Absolutely not. He’s a Gator great, but has failed miserably at his last two HC gigs.
I’m in a very dangerous place …apathy is setting in. These things that some of us have been asking for Dan to address are still an issue. It’s not good for my health
We are 4-6 in our last 10 games with wins against, FAU, South Florida, Tennessee and Vanderbilt (all unranked teams). Mullen gets $633K a game. We are not paying him to win games against unranked teams (and lose one in embarrassing fashion against another).
If you said bring him in as DC, okay. But his forays as HC have been disasters. Some great coordinators lose it when they are HCs. Look at Mullen for instance.
