UK is no juggernaut this season. They are good but if we play up to our potential there is no reason we can't beat them.

And there is no problem with venting as long as it's within the rules. The most disappointing part is when people start showing up when we are not playing well but are nowhere to be seen when we are winning.

What will hurt us the most will be matador defense by our bigs, only Jitoboh can try to stop someone. Kentucky will come with the three guards, a small forward that is quick and their center who know what to do to get to the basket. They play dribble drive until they get you dizzy.

Arky has hit a rough patch with Isiah Joe out, but they have a lot of good wins on their resume. They beat Georgia Tech away, Indiana away, Mississippi away, and Alabama away.

I thought for our young group, that this was a trap game. Maybe win by 3 to 5 points, but I think the technical rubbed our guys the wrong way just like us Gator fans. Proud of the way they responded and didn’t just chuck threes like we did nearing the end of the first half. Zero ball movement the last five minutes of the first half. If we are moving the ball around fast and keep moving, openings to the basket and open set shots will be there!

He “contributed” in that game I guess, but he has been awful for awhile now. Luckily it’s clearly because he is trying to go way too fast and it’ll slow down for him eventually.

Usually Gator luck has the opponents best player being magically cured right before we play them.

It was good to get another win. Win streaks can have a real positive effect on confidence and thats a big plus for us right now.

    Just get the wins Gators.

You guess. We were outscored with Nembhard at the point in the Vandy game and way outscored Vandy when Hlover was at the point. That was the first game when Glover got significant minutes at the point this season. So
his reward was to be the 3rd string point guard against Arkansas.

A quick breakdown of Tuesday night's home victory against the Razorbacks.
    AT THE BUZZER
    FLORIDA 73, ARKANSAS 59

WHAT HAPPENED: Sophomore forward Keyontae Johnson tallied 24 points and 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season and went 15 of 17 from the free-throw line Tuesday night, as the Gators withstood a furious rally by the visiting Razorbacks to get out of Exactech Arena/O'Connell Center with a big Southeastern Conference victory. Sophomore point guard Andrew Nembhard had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists and sophomore shooting guard Noah Locke had 11 first-half points for UF, which shot 50 percent from the floor for a third consecutive game and put things away but outscoring Arkansas 19-9 over the final seven-plus minutes. The Gators came out with hot hands, hitting 11 of their first 17 field-goal attempts and five of seven from the 3-point line to take a 19-point lead, despite grad-transfer forward Kerry Blackshear Jr. taking a seat two minutes into the game with his second foul (both on illegal screens) and Johnson joining him with 10 minutes to go. The margin still was 17 with five minutes to play in the period when the home team went cold and the visitors heated up. Arkansas, taking advantage of some transition opportunities, went on a 12-2 run to end the period, while UF missed its last five field goals. Seven minutes into the second half, the Hogs had the margin down to two before the Gators worked it back out to six just in time for Blackshear to get smacked with his fourth foul with 9:33 to go. UF, though, put together a run of buckets and stops, ripping off 10 straight points (6 by Johnson, 4 by Nembhard) to turn a four-point edge into a 14-point edge with 3:38 remaining. Johnson finished four of seven from the floor, hit one of three attempts from the arc, and his 15 free-throw makes and 17 attempts were both far and away career highs. Arkansas was led by guard Mason Jones, the SEC scoring leader, who finished with 21 points.

I have no issues with peeps venting over calls, bad decisions,(both staff and players) not being prepared etc...

it just seemed the negativity from a small group took over. If your not understanding that basketball isn't just a game of ebb and flow I gotcha. Coaching can alter ebb and flow, just as a hot hand can. In basketball these days your not out of any game within 3-4 possessions. The 3 ball and shot clock have made the game an ebb and flow game. Enjoy the ride and if it's too much, take a break...
why jump online and make foolish comments?

To much venting makes this site hard to read...

The team is hard to watch. The board is hard to read. The former is causing the latter.

Thanks to the first half of the first half! The last 10 minutes of the first half we were missing so many shots and not getting second shots. Ark was plus 6 during the stretch of the 12 minute + mark to the end of the half!!!

But doesn’t the rules specify the first flop as a warning?

Being honest about it, my comment had nothing to do with being confident. It was a sarcastic comment after my original critical post was removed. I guess from now on I will just post comments like this one since that is apparently all that is allowed.

Game Recap: Men's Basketball | Tuesday, February 18, 2020 | Chris Harry, Senior Writer UF
    Johnson Drives Gators Past Hogs
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Arkansas coach Eric Musselman didn't have to put too much thought into when Tuesday night's game turned. On either occasion.
First time: When Florida forward Keyontae Johnson picked up his second foul with just under 11 minutes to go in the first half and had to take a seat.
Second time: When Johnson was back on the floor in the second half, then basically took over.
"He dominated the basketball game," Musselman said. "We had nobody who could guard him."

Johnson poured in 24 points, and grabbed 10 rebounds to notch his sixth double-double of the season, setting the tone for his teammates by relentlessly attacking the Razorbacks' defense on his way to making 15 of 17 free throws and leading the Gators to a 73-59 victory in their Southeastern Conference game at Exactech Arena/O'Connell Center. Sophomore point guard Andrew Nembhard had 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting, including some big second-half buckets, plus seven rebounds and four assists, as Florida (17-9, 8-4) won a third straight in league play for the first time this season (as well as the fifth over the previous six games) and moved into a tie with LSU for third place in the league standings.

UF shot 50 percent for the game, including 63.2 in the second half, but had a 19-point first-half lead reduced twice to just two points in the second half before Johnson and Nembhard took control and dealt the Razorbacks (16-10, 4-9) a fifth straight defeat.

Gators stifle Arkansas, earn third win in a row
    Alligator
    Evan Lepak, Sports Writer
Visibly frustrated, Arkansas coach Eric Musselman had some flattering words for UF forward Keyontae Johnson during the postgame press conference.
"He's one of the best dribble drivers at the four spot in all of college basketball,” he said
He showcased that ability despite Arkansas' best attempts to stop him, as the sophomore helped realize his opponent's fears.

The game's leading scorer had a career-high 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds, getting to the line a season-high 17 times and converting 15 times.
Johnson's efforts, paired with a smothering performance from the defense, guided the Gators to a convincing 73-59 home victory on Tuesday night.
"When the plays broke down, I just happened to get past the defenders," Johnson said. "Made the smart decision for my team, getting fouled and hitting free throws."
The Razorbacks (16-10, 4-9 SEC) were atrocious early on offense, and Florida (17-9, 9-4 SEC) took full advantage.
