Keagan only threw 76 pitches tonight. This is by far the most efficient she's been all year. I expect her to be in the circle against Missouri.
She’s gonna be leaned on more heavily than she has been all year. People were worried about her being overused and running out of steam, this is why she’s been pushed so hard. It’s about to get kicked into overdrive and she’s going to be asked to go even harder, even more often.
I see that the days of a team riding 1 dominant pitcher are gone. The good thing is they have the offensive firepower to back her up should a few runs be given up.
Good game by the Lady Gators, Now get Mizzou! Watched the game while at my nieces championship game, she had a great game, 10 ks in 5 innings walked 6, an in the park HR on a bunt, and made several clutch throws for outs to help her team to an 11-2 victory run rule in 5. Her dream, to pitch for the Gators!
So this team reminds me a lot of the 2013 team and I went back and looked at the 2013 sec tournament.....Florida won that year against....Missouri!
I want to remind everybody, that in our 2 losses to Mizzou earlier this year the Gator pitchers gave 15 free passes (BB & HBP) to Mizzou. I think KR has gotten better at limiting free passes since then. Also, I think our offense is firing on more cylinders now. Mizzou hit Brown pretty well, so I expect KR to start. McCann and Pannell were pretty tough over 8.1 innings pitched over the 3 games - no Gator hits. So if Anderson was smart .....
Yeah you would think that info would be posted on our softball twitter page but it's not. 5pm on ESPN2 is what I found. Not here: https://twitter.com/GatorsSB Not here: https://twitter.com/hashtag/SECTourney?src=hashtag_click Here:
I'm concerned about Ava Brown. She has gone from hitting over .300 to upper .250s. I find myself saying come on Ava get a hit every time she comes to the plate. I want her to succeed so much.
Ava doesn't "get a hit." She either crushes it or gets out. Been that way all season long. Compared to most, it's rare that you ever see her standing on 1B. She's tied for the second most HR of anyone on team. Her percentage of HR per AB is solidly #2, no one else even close. As the season went on and we faced better pitching placement, I think it was less conducive to her type of swing.
This team is so hot right now jsut have to keep the momentum going. They are having so much fun and that matters. Haven't been able to read the subs much but just all around such great performances right now. Top 8 is locked imo.
Ava has lots to work on in the offseason. On the other hand, Mia put me in my place yesterday. Every time she comes to plate, I say to myself "Mia No Bat" is up. She then proceeded to slap me with that 3 run homer. Thank you, Mia, I needed that slap.
Mia’s just a freshman, I’ll be shocked if her production doesn’t skyrocket over the course of her career.
