From my understanding the old program wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t elite. It’s really hard to build individualized plans so they basically had 3 tiers: gain, maintain, lean out. You would get a hot box meal based on those 3 categories and your individual weight goals. That kind of plan generally works well and is very efficient and easy to manage because you mass produce the boxes and players grab and go. The downside is that if a player needs specific targets for calories and the kind of calories (split between carbs/fats/proteins) you can’t tailor it to the position groups or players. That’s what’s changing. I’ve heard before at Bama they even analyze your sweat and adjust your meal plan accordingly. I’m assuming that’s where we’re going.
