    Sigh
So what. Homelessness has been and is an issue across this country. San Fran, Seattle, Portland, New Orleans, Tampa…St Augustine, Miami
All have homeless issues. Some worse than others.
    DC is no different.
Does the rampant inflation help? No. Does the number of immigrants being bused to DC help. No. Does DC need to feel the same issues as the rest of the nation.. absolutely.

Seems fairly clean and organized. People walking by it don’t seem bothered.

I had not heard of Benny Johnson, but I agree with you.

Homelessness is def a problem in America. We can probably do better. I wonder, though, the extent to which this is a Biden problem. :emoji_thinking:

Homelessness In DC - The Community Partnership
The 2022 PIT Count is down by 14 percent from 2021 and by 47 percent since 2016, the first PIT following the implementation of Homeward DC .

This is the sixth consecutive year that the District’s overall PIT Count has decreased and is one of the lowest counts on record.

    Vet your sources.

I’d be real careful telling someone to VET their sources . Seems to be an issue all around this board.

Agree with your second sentence, but not the first. Anyone posting a source, myself included may be subject to scrutiny. In this case, I'm more compelled to trust the Community Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness than Ben Johnson, bloviating Tweeter.

D.C. has always had a major homeless problem once you venture away from federal landmarks, all the city parks are basically full of two things during the day. Homeless people and food trucks. Actually all the big cities have these issues, so I’m not even sure it’s particularly worse in D.C. Not even like FL is immune. One of my first experiences in FL was having to step around a crazy number of homeless people going up the steps to the old Miami arena. Apparently back then they didn’t even bother to clear it out for games lol. Can’t say I’ve seen the same problem at the new arena.

I meant that just recently certain posters on both sides have failed to get their sources. Grants only one side got attacks for it.. but still…

I lived in DC for years. Tent city has been there in one form or another for at least three administration's. This isn't anything new.

The person who made that video is more offensive than any tent city.

I’m sure the douchebag is probably well aware of that (provided he isn’t “brand new” to D.C). He’s hoping to get his name out there with those who aren’t.

The kind of person who would blame this on Biden would also blame him for global inflation.

I've been to DC one time in my life and that was enough. When my kids were young we were stopped at a red light in DC and a bunch of cop cars pulled up and Cops jumped out cocking shotguns and running towards a building. I told the wife and kids to hit the floor and I took off through the red light. If not the scariest moment of my life it was certainly one of them.

I'd be quite happy to never go E. of the Mississippi again. I strongly prefer the REAL us. Damn, I have not lived E of the big river in 32 years!!!! Was within 10 miles for 7 years tho.

first time W. of the mississippi was 1987; me & my old man took a drug fueled (had to call 911 twice for pops) road trip including Colo, NM, Ariz, UT. I vowed that I would live there 1 day.

Remember when ‘flyover country’ used to be a term of derision ?
