Then you definitely can't support the one negotiated the capitulation agreement, effectively surrendering Afghanistan.

Trump didn't have Mark Milley executed yet?

You must have really torn your hair out over this one; "My hero and spiritual North Star Donald Trump said this guy was a traitor who should be put to death for treason......but he said something that I find politically expedient. Should I use it to shill and hope nobody notices?"

Retired Gen. Mark Milley, former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, refused to trade barbs with former President Trump on Tuesday after being reminded of Trump’s social media post last year saying he should be executed.

Trump said in September 2023 that Milley committed treason and should be put to death...

Milley responds to Trump execution comments: ‘It’s a free country’ | The Hill

Good God, man, our country was formed through overthrown government. We celebrate it every year with gunpowder. And here I thought you were a patriotic American.

The difference is that the American colonists who overthrew the British government in colonial America did so because they were denied representation in Parliament. What happened on January 6, 2021 was a (fortunately) failed attempt to overthrow a government because a small number of insurgents ginned up by a narcissistic defeated candidate who refused to accept the results of a free and fair election, the results of which they challenged roughly 60 times in court and failed almost every time.

BS, they had a governor general who functioned as a parliamentary representative.

The American colonists were the welfare queens of the British Empire.

Don't worry, the far lefties will try to rationalize that their side is better. They will trot out the "lesser of 2 evil's" garbage. Both candidates are terrible. The sooner everyone realizes that the better. Will be my 3rd straight election not voting for either major political party.

If we had a proper military, these guys would have committed ritual suicide instead of blaming someone else for their own incompetence

You expected the Generals to say it was their fault? Come on.

The Generals argued to leave 2,500 troops. So in other words, renig totally on the deal made by Trump to leave, and commit to a permanent presence if not re-escalation of the war.

The war had to end. It was an ugly end, but I don't put much blame on Biden for the ugly parts.

If Biden has any blame in the fall, Trump has 20X blame. He negotiated with the Taliban to "hold fire" till after the election. He released 5000 Taliban and Isis prisoners as a parting gift on his way out the door. He refused to share any intel with Biden.

The major blame has to go to the military for being unable to win over the hearts and minds and help implement a supported Government. We were there for 20 years trying to prop up a Government, and it collapsed within weeks. Who the hell saw that happening?

If we stayed another 20 years might the Government stood up for 4 weeks?

This is where the problem lies to me. We expect the military to things that they are not supposed to be built to do. Military is supposed to protect the US and its allies and KILL the enemy.

All I see is another U.S. military defeat. Why can’t we win wars anymore.

Wait! Better question: with our abysmal war record, when will we give up fighting wars ?

Technically the US military at present is built to conduct counterinsurgency warfare heavily reliant on special ops (and also to use our advantage of air superiority). Just seems we haven't decided that its track record of results is pretty terrible, because COI doestnt really work and air power cant occupy a country.

The military-industrial complex is so sad.

We could close down all 900+ military installations in 80 countries and bring our boys and girls home, lay waste to our military budget … and no ten countries combined could invade and subjugate us.

    But the jobs.

If, after all this time, you're refusing to see the vast difference between Biden and Trump, I'm glad you're not voting.

Soldiers died every year in Afghanistan from enemy combatants up until the day we left. No year under Trump was under 13 deaths. No Biden critic can name a single incident they objected to prior to that one and there are 2,461 combat deaths to choose from. Not to mention the 30,000 suicides from soldiers since we started the operation.

In hindsight thousands of lives could have been saved by avoiding the war to begin with, but George got his pound of flesh for 9/11… unfortunately the culprit was in another country watch porn in his compound.

In the history of every presidential administration, something unfortunate has happened in their first year when they were still getting their act together.

In the case of the Afghanistan withdrawal, you had Trump kicking the can down the road and a suicide bomber as accelerants to these problems.

It's ludicrous to base an opinion of the administration on this unfortunate event.
