Riley McCusker is deferring until after Tokyo 2021 - saw on youtube interview with other national team members conducted by Mykala Skinner.
With Riley McCusker deciding to defer to after Tokyo 21, UF has added another gymnast for the 21 season:
Alex Magee to Join 2021 Gator Gymnastics Team - Florida Gators
YouTube of Alexandria Magee floor routine:
Welcome aboard Alex Magee.
I'm not going to pump sunshine on this insofar as 21 is concerned. UF just replaced an elite national team member competing for an Olympics roster spot with a level 10 gymnast. I'm certain Magee will be able to help the team where needed, but the difference between level 10 and elite is substantial.
Bottom line, UF has some excellent returning gymnasts led by Trinity Thomas who is competing for UF and an Olympics roster spot and Alyssa Baumann, but we likely won't have enough to punch through to become a national championship team in 21. Due to her injury before she came to UF, I wouldn't expect Baumann to ever perform on the uneven bars, but it would be a huge plus if she can add vault in at close to the level that she performs on beam and floor. Peyton Richards needs to make a solid sophomore jump in the all-around as well.
Also addressed in the article is that Morgan Hurd is still deferring until 22 so she can compete for roster spots in the Olympics in Tokyo and the Worlds in Copenhagen.
